My dog, Yogi, passed away yesterday. He hadn't been eating for the past few days and didn't seem like himself. I noticed that he was breathing heavily and told my parents about it. We were going to take him to the vet on friday, but my mom saw that he was looking worse and worse so we took him yesterday. He was so emaciated under his sweater (I didn't even know til we took it off) and did not look good at all. The vet listened to his heart and he knew right away. He said that his heart wasn't good at all and that it sounded really bad. So he said that they could take some x-rays and we agreed. That was the last time I saw Yogi. My dad called my mom into the room and when the doctor came back he pretty much told us that it was over. He had fluid in his lungs and I'm sure all the anxiety from being in an unfamiliar environment was just too much for his already struggling heart.
He was the BEST dog ever! We were all so connected to him and I'll always remember him. He was only three years old, a non-stereotypical chihuahua, and the most playful, kindest, cutest dog ever. I loved him so much, LOL! I'de always call him "BROTHER!" He was great. I'm sorry he had to suffer in the end. But, although, he couldn't be active and energetic as usual, he NEVER stopped loving us. In his pain, he would look up at me and just stare, lick our fingers when we would pet him, and try to walk up to us when we would check up on him. I'll miss my baby brother Yogi.
