Memories and Thoughts of the Past and Future
A place where I can put my memories, thoughts, and stories.
The Painters: Part Seven
"Wait, what," Nick asked as he got up from his chair. "How are we supossed to get to this so-called other realm?"

"You ask too many questions," Matthew said as he opened his sketch book again. He had opened it to the page the he had written on before when the table appeared. But this time, he made a line through the space where he had written his name earlier. This caused the table to vanish. "Now if I could just find the-" he stoped short of what he was saying when he came to a certain page. "Ah, here we are. The doorway."

Nick, once again confused by Matthews words, simply stared with a confused look on his face and said, "Huh?"

Matthew turned to Nick and simply said, "It's what will take us away from here. To the world of the painters." Then, with a quick motion of his wrist, Matthew signed his name under the drawing of the door. And like with the dragon and the table, a door appeared in front of them. "Lets go," he said as he steped towards the door.

Nick, being somewhat skeptical, walk towards the door slowly, his dragon following close behind. And without hezitation, he opened the door which he thought was nothing more that a normal door. Oh, how he was wrong. As soon as he opened the door a wave of energy washe over him that seemed to pull him inside the doorway.

The last thing he remembered feeling before he blacked out was his dragon friend biting his shirt and trying to keep them both from being sucked in.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

When he woke up, His dragon friend was starining him in the face while he lay on the ground. "Am I dead?" he asked the dragon, even though he knew that it couldn't talk back.

"No, you just blacked out," said a muffled voice. For a moment, Nick thought that it was the dragon who had spoken. But when he sat up, he saw that Matthew was the one who had said it. He was sitting up in a tree, looking out into the distance. Though Nick was more interested in what had just happened than he was in what Matthew was looking at.

"What the hell just happened?" he asked in a somewhat soft tone.

"Simple," Matthew said without taking his eyes away from the direction he was looking in. "We've left the ordinary world behind and entered the land of the painters."

After hearing that, Nick decided to look in the same direction as Matthew. Nothing could have prepared him for what he saw. Off in the distance was some of the most beautiful scenery he had ever seen in his whole life. The sky seemed to sing with beauty, the fields with joy, and the air smelled of freshly grown flowers of all sorts. And the slight breeze that was blowing gave off a warm and gentle feeling. "Is this where I'll be staying?" Nick asked, with much hope in his voice.

"Not yet I'm afraid," Matthew said. That statement both shocked and angered Nick and his dragon. Matthew just laughed at their reaction and said, "Relax. If you'd clean out your ears, you know that I said 'not yet' and not 'no'. You can live here after you completely understand your skills. But first, we have to go somewhere."

Calming down somewhat, Nick asked, "Where are we going this time?"

"Simple," Matthew said. "We're going to the School of Art."
