“Bang” “Bang”

As I sit in class and gun shots go off.
I’m scared. Scared for the others.
Everyone is panicking and all I can think about is you.
I want to see your face.
For you to comfort me, hold me, tell me everything will be ok.
Kids start running out the door to evade the attackers.
I sit there and I think.
I sit there and I wait for you to come save me.
But you didn’t come.
I get a call and it’s you.
I can’t help but hope you’re trying to find me.
You tell me you’re outside,
You’re waiting for me…outside.
I tell you I’ll be there.
When I hang up everything goes dark.
It was a delayed reaction, but then I hear the shot.
And the only thing I can think of is you didn’t come.My knight and shinning armor didn’t come for me.
As I drift away never to see you again.
I think, You Didn’t Come.
