I met up with some pretty chill people about a week ago. It's amazing how much they remind me of my old friends, or mixtures of my friends behaviors and mannerism are eerily similar to those of Sanders "Rex" and the rest of them, I'm the only odd one in a sense, I know all these personalities, i've heard the these same ideas before, I've experienced this same world in essence. Except here my past adventures are looked upon in a different light. Back home I was the guy who had gone to all these places, I had all these crazy experiences and adventures, and many of the people back home either knew of or were curious of my past exploits, and questioned me and my past as it was.
Here however I'm just "that chill, quiet, somewhat akward guy, who travelled all over and has seen some pretty cool stuff" and no one questions this description, no one asks me where i've gone or what i've done, the lack of questions is liberating in a major way, no endless explanations, no redundant recounts of past exploits, here i'm just free to be.
Although it is a bit disconcerting to witness the way in which people react to me under these circumstances. An introduction back home was simply my name coupled with a short anecdote of something memorable that that person associated with me as if to mark such an occurance with an image of me to rest as some sort of marker on a timeline.
Introductions here seem tio be my name and where i'm from, and the resulting conversation ends up being the same repetitive crap that involves the climate, economic standing, and social system of my hometown, it never really progresses past this, maybe this is normal but it's something i'm not used to at all, it's very alien, but this is the world I live in now for the time being, so i'm sure i'll become accustomed to it soon enough. Time and tide i suppose, well...i suppose...it'll all be sorted out after the hazy shades of winter pass.
