Okay, Here's What Happened
Just a random archive of bits and pieces of my totally chaotic yet strangely peaceful life.
Uh, Okay. Where's My Car??!
Okay, so something I would never have expected to happen for me but did occurred about a week ago.
I was having a strange dream about school (already I'm having dreams about going back) when I for some reason woke up suddenly. It was 6:50 A.M. and I decided to take a look outside. My driveway was completely empty. I thought, Oh, Mom must've gone shopping or something, and went back to my bed.
I went back to dreaming, then again my attention was pulled from my dreams to the sound of frantic whispering in the living room. I shook off my covers and looked at the empty driveway again, becoming suddenly confused. As I crawled back into my bed my mom bursted through my door.
"Wake up, Honey, our car's been stolen," she spoke in an annoyed tone.
"Our what?" I whispered. The sentence brought on no shock at first.
"Our Car," she grumbled. "Hijacked."
"Wha---HIJACKED??!!" This time I tumbled out of bed in shock. Mom smiled grimly and left my room, probably to wake my sister up. I whisped around the room to see if I could see any signs of us getting robbed as well. I was relieved to find everything in its place. I yanked the blinds away to take another look at the driveway. The emptiness of it made me feel even more frantic.
"Dude!" I shouted, and with that I dashed out into the front yard to inspect the crime scene. There were no usual signs of a break-in, no shattered glass, no random tools scattered about in the yard; I saw a couple of bottle caps that weren't there before, but those wouldn't help. I faintly recalled an episode of NCIS with a similar scenario, and realized our car's lock had been picked. This had already happened to our car before--someone had tried to pick the lock twice before.
Man, I thought, this really sucks. I bet that same stupid group of people took our car for a joy ride."Dude," was all I could say for a while until the shock finally wore off.
Later that evening the police came over to our house to talk with us about the incident. They said it would probably turn up in a ditch somewhere.
It really sucked how a police man lived on our street and someone stole our car. I thought we were living in a crime-free environment---despite the fact that one of our neighbors was a sex offender. But that doesn't mean anything.
Okay, for anyone who is reading this: Our car was a 2000 Dodge Intrepid, one of the world's easiest cars to hotwire--you could do it with just a screwdriver-- and I'm telling you now, if you have the same kind of car , you have to be EXTREMELY careful. There have been an increasing amount of incidents concerning the hijacking of Dodge Intrepids. Please remember to lock ALL your doors, maybe even start using your garage. I never thought it would happen to someone like me, but it did. And I'm telling you now to be on your guard. Not just people with Intrepids, but with any other car there is the same kind of risk. Oh and also, DONT LEAVE ANYTHING IMPORTANT TO YOU IN YOUR CAR EVER!!!!
Oh, and by the way, our car has been found three days ago; it was found in a junkyard in Daytona, FL, with tinted windows, everything stolen from it. A couple of drug dealers were making use of it. sweatdrop
