the costs of freedom...where does our money go?
I would never fight for a country that obviously cares more about the rich, upperclass white men and looks down upon all difference and casts out the different people from society as if they never mattered at all. This country was built on the idea of freedom, but freedom doesn't exist. We live in a world where we're forced to be the same. We're forced to go to school, work, and give our money to our leaders - the rich, upperclass white men - who simply get richer while we get poorer. And the middleclass live in their Suburban Homes, growing fatter and fatter everday, paying no attention to the begger on the side of the street who thought he'd do something different but was cast out with nothing. And we're told about crime, and war, and terrorism so that we may all live in fear of these created threats. And once we are all scared, we are much more easily controlled so we look to our higher power - our leaders - to get rid of these "monsters in the closet and under the bed". So they look at us, rubbing their fingers together in gestures saying, "we want some compensation" so we give them our money. And then, when the nation is in a fright, some people will go to drastic measures, which thus creates crime. And then, when there's crime, the news team is there to say, "Crime is in your city" and so we look, again to our leaders, who say, we need more money to get rid of this crime. So we give them money. And the criminals realize that the more they kill, the more famous they become, so they kill more and more. And kids watch this on TV and in movies, so they believe it to be okay to murder, and kill. And they go around in gangs with weapons and begin to kill. Then they grow famous, and more and more kids see this and crime rates sky rocket. And, again, our leaders ask for more of our money, so we give them more money and we find ourselves getting poorer while these rich bastards get richer and their greed and want for more money and power grows. Then they begin doing things to get more money, such as creating a war to raise taxes. And the circle of greed continues. More and more money is paid to get rid of a threat that probably doesn't even exist.
But more than that, the minorities are looked at as a threat. Minorities are mostly poor and make much less money than the rich white men. So these poor, lowerclass minorities look to robbery to gain their money because no one would hire them. And thus, the crime rate grows more. And these people breed, and their kids see what they're doing, so they begin commiting crimes because it's all they know. And the media shows us this cycle and we begin to look down on minorities and fear them. And again, we look to our leaders who then ask for more money.
We are living in a nation run by greed, racism, and corruption. People are killed for our leaders' own goods, money is paid to fight an unjustified war, and taxes are paid to get rid of crime, when the crime rate simply goes up no matter how much we pay, not because of our youth today, but because of the fear that's pumped through our television screens. Our youth aren't evil, they've only been raised to view corruption and violence as a good thing through movies and video games.
You may say we live a the land of the free, but I can only see our freedoms going to waste as we throw away more money for a worthless cause.
