Don't Ignore Me....
...I need you more than ever.
Second Chapter.
Lauren plopped down on her bed and heaved a heavy sigh. "It was awful! The cast was great, but I swear to God, Rex kept mentioning how evil I was." Sam was in the other room brushing his teeth and shaking his head.

"Babe, you've got to stop thinking about it. You should be concentrating on your lines." He spit the toothpaste into the sink and leaned back so he could see her in the bedroom. She had her eyes closed and was rubbing her temples, but even then she still managed to look pretty. He smiled and rinsed out his mouth. I love that chick... "And if you were really evil, I don't think you'd be engaged." Lauren giggled and got off the bed. She went into the restroom and wrapped her arms around Sam.

"You know what?"

"I'm sexy?"

"Besides that!"

"There's something else other than my manly good looks?"

"Yes! You have a marvelous personality! You know just what to say to make me feel better. Thank ya, doll." She kissed his cheek and looked at the reflection of them in the mirror. She smiled as he looked up and his emerald eyes flashed and his lips curved into a smile. She rested her head against his naked shoulder and took a deep breath in.

"You tired, Lauren?" Sam asked before kissing the top of Lauren's head.

"A little..."

"Go to bed, you're going to need it for tomorrow."

"Haha... How true..." She played with his silky black hair and kissed him on the cheek again. "I'll see you tomorrow."

"You aren't crashing over here?"

"Nah. I have some anger I need to release."

"Gotcha. I love you."

"I love you, too." Lauren responded and walked out the door, shutting it behind her.

Rex was at his apartment, sipping a coke, and remembering what had happened today.

She had been there. His first love, the one who was the first to swear to him that they'd be together forever. The only one he had believed. She had been there, as cute and charming as ever. It just wasn't right. Wasn't she just as distraught as he was? Had she forgotten entirely about their relationship? It was just not right...

Rex stood up and punched the punching bag that was hanging from the ceiling. He punched it until his anger ebbed away. Then he went to bed.

***

Lauren was in her car, speeding down the empty backroads that only she dared to use. Sure it was three times longer to get to her house this way, but she needed time to think.

Rex... Rex... Geeze... She hadn't allowed herself to think about him in months, and suddenly he was back. He sure had grown, too... He was tall and slender. His face had gotten much more mature. She was afraid to admit it, but he had gotten sexier than he had been back when they had dated. She smiled and wrapped her hair around her finger. NO! She snapped herself back to reality. If she thought like that, it would surely lead to no good.

She saw her house in the distance and sped up. Once she arrived at home she plopped into bed and closed her eyes... I wonder if he still likes me...
