Akumetsu
Well.. this is my first journal entry, and like every polite meeting, i shoule introduce myself... I'm LuvNvrDies, and it's not really important if that's my real name or not.
For my first journal entry, I'll discuss about Akumetsu, its a manga, a very good manga to be exact. Excellent art, excellent plot, a total must read. It's often compared to Deathnote, though Akumetsu was published first(overshadowed by its popularity to be exact).
In its 1st chapter, there was this one page that really hit me, that's the link above...
"After all the evil people in this world are dead, will this world be peaceful?"
I seriously thought about this, trying to be unbiased in every aspect as possible for a conclusion. Initially, my answer had been "no". "No" because that what i grew up believing in. But i wanted to be unbiased in my answer so i can justify it better.
Since i wanted to be unbiased, lets first define the term Evil. According to Wikipedia, "Evil, in many cultures, is a broad term used to describe what are seen as subjectively harmful deeds that are labeled as such to steer moral support.". From that definition alone, evil is said to be subjective:
"People live their lives bound by what they accept as correct and true. That's how they define "reality..."
-Uchiha Itachi
And the same goes for evil. Whether an act is evil or not, that's for YOU to decide. As was said in our definition, evil is something that causes harm, this is where i began to question my initial answer:
"Those who do not understand true pain can never understand true peace."
-Nagato/Pain
And that is something that i have accepted a long time ago, humans never learn until they get hurt. And when they feel pain, they'll feel fear. When they fear, they obey. That may sound like something from Light Yagami, but yeah, i learned that the hard way. Just think of this, there's this guy that really annoys you. Which would be more convenient, telling him to shut up which he'll probably ignore, or pointing a gun in his ugly face then telling him to shut the ******** up? See what i mean?
Since life is an endless journey to pursue convenience(yes, damn straight it is), i believe most people would choose something "convenient over something "ideal".
But when it comes all down to it, will that really work out? will the world really be peaceful?
"The real and lasting victories are those of peace, and not of war."
-some guy i can't remember sweatdrop
Why would we settle for something short-term like annihilating all evil person at present when we can go long-term with "killing" evil itself...
But how exactly do we do that? What does it take to "kill' evil?
ahhh... another thing to ponder upon...hmmm?
"But someday I'll break the curse. If there's such a thing as peace, I will find it!"
-Nagato/Pain
