I missed a day. You wanna know why? Ahahahahaha. Yeah. I pulled an all-nighter. Me! And I barely slept last night, too. But my English paper and 15-page research paper are complete, and I have one final over with. How well I did on all of those is another story, however...
So. Hello, diary. This is what's on my mind today. I'm getting a tattoo in January with my two besties (Lulz is doing the jelly!), and I'm torn on what to get. I know I shouldn't get anything unless I'm 100%, but it's with a really great artist who's also Jennifer's friend so he'll give us a discount. He was trained in the best parlor in L.A., has shirts sold in Hot Topic, the whole shebang. Apparently Jennifer fell asleep when he was doing her shoulder, he's so lighthanded... We're going to his house (he's in the process of setting up his own store so he's working out of his studio now), and though that's kind of sketch, I'm super excited for the intimacy of the setting. His wife just had a baby and I'm hoping to meet her. Of course it's super sanitary, too; he went through two boxes of gloves doing one of Jennifer's. So this is kind of an opportunity I can't pass up, especially since I told him we'd be getting three done and, well, I don't want to not give him the money I promised him... but back to the main point: I'm not sure what to get!!
I'm kinda feeling two of Dickinson's poems, and I ordered her complete works to check out the rest of her stuff. I'm mainly worried about the length. I want it done above my right ankle (concealable but the skin won't die with pregnancy/age), so it'll probably fit, but I want to maintain a sense of professionalism, too...
For a while I was considering this, but I'm not sure if it's obscure enough:

And of course I have a special relationship with this, but as much as I love it, my any tattoo already displays it's philosophy and I feel like I should get something more layered:

I'm going to reread "Hawksong" in search of one, since that book always gets me, but even if I don't use something from there, I think that's the font I want. I'm hoping the artist will also give me suggestions to ramp it up. I'm a little worried about how it's all going to pull together, but I'm pretty excited, too. I think I'm starting to view my body as a canvas...too bad I want to be a teacher!
