The Thoughts and Questions of a Lonely Soul
Just a look into the everyday life and trials of one person among thousands, work, home and the human condition
Chocolate, Writing and Music
So I have to wonder about my mentality, when I believe that chocolate is the answer to all things and that if it's not sweet, it's not worth eating. Coffee is another matter entirely, it has to be black as night and bitter as sin otherwise it's sickening, but where food is concerned, it should be sweet.

This either shows that my parents indulged my sweet tooth too much, or that Gabriel has well and truly taken up a place in my psyche with no hope of him ever being removed. I'm gonna go with the former rather than the latter because the former is at least less disturbing.

Truth of the matter is, I only eat vast amounts of sweet things when I'm writing, and by this I mean huge amounts of chocolate, boiled sweets and candies of all kinds. Sometimes crisps and things feature, and even sweet fruits can be found, but it's not a diet I should allow myself to have. Since I'm moving back in with my mum to save some money in a couple of months, I'm hoping that problem will slowly solve itself when I don't have the ready access I do at home. But the point of the matter is, much as I adore to spend time writing, I eat rather a lot of junk in the process which is bad for my health.

On the other hand, it draws my attention away from the tv (which my mum will tell you is the best thing in the world, if it were up to her she wouldn't even have one) and puts it into something productive. Just don't tell her that most of the writing I do is fanfiction and everything will be fine.

To me, music and writing go hand in hand. I cannot abide silence when I'm working, as my boss discovered today when he put the radio on and my mood soared as I worked through everything at record speed. So I write with music on and sometimes I find that the track I'm listening to is particularly appropriate to the stuff I'm writing, often not by design, and that really adds something to my fun. Tonight I discovered The Promise ~ Krypteria, fitted very well with the chapter of my current fic that I'm writing, in particular part of the latin chorus: Quidquid agis prudenter agas respice finem ~ Whatever you chose, consider the consequences. It all flowed far more naturally than I thought the chapter would and that always makes me happy.
