I found out yesterday my Steam account had been hijacked. I hadn't used it in about 2 months but it looked like he had it for quite some time, he had a rather extensive list of friends. I didn't realize it was hijacked when I tried to log in. I assumed that there was either maintenance or just a simple error as it kept saying I didn't exist.
After contacting support They alerted me to what had happened and reset my account for me. My profile name had been changed and all my friends gone. using the profile name it was Changed to I found out that the guy responsible had been banned from his account 2 months ago.
Finally after a day of playing my steam games I got a few emails. it seemed he was trying to log back in and sending password reminders and asking for password resets. I know the name he goes by and I will be keeping my eye on him, I won;t let him claim another account.
