History: Valerie's mother died while giving birth to her. Her father, stricken with grief, couldn't bare to look at her. She looked so much like her mother that every time he gazed upon his daughter's face he was reminded of his departed beloved. It came to such a point where he couldn't with stand the sorrow any longer. He lay her in a small basket and placed her carefully under the old oak tree where he buried her mother. Tears blurring his vision he staggered back into the house. He found his tinder box and opened it roughly, spilling the entire contents on the floor. He slammed his fists on his desk and threw back the chair. He gathered up the flint and steel, and striking them together, he lit one of the oil lamps hanging off the wall. He stumbled back outside, his body trembling, holding the lamp in his left hand. With all the might he could muster he threw the lamp through the window shattering the glass and setting their house ablaze. Without looking back he turned and ran off into the woods.
The first person on the scene was a Amazon Queen on route home from hunting. Seeing the blaze she and her hunting party ran to extinguished the flames. Once the fire was doused and the roar of it silenced the sound of a screaming baby could be clearly heard. The queen found the child and took Valerie under her care. She raised Valerie like her own daughter and made sure she was given all the training and education that an Amazon Princess required. When Valerie turned 19, she began 'The Trial of Self Discovery', which every princess has to fulfill in order to be eligible for the crown. To accomplish this trial a princess must leave the safety of her village and live outside it for a term of 8 years, only then can they truly find themselves. Once they have completed the term they can return home and accept the crown that awaited them, that is if they still wanted it. For some, during that time, have discovered they don't want to live the life of a queen. If this is their choice they must return to the village and publicly renounce their claim to the throne. Its during this time that Valerie comes across the crumbling city of Isyl-Belyrith.
Bio: Valerie was nearing the end of her term, in two more years she would be allowed to return home. She has learned much about herself and her abilities but she's still unsure of whether to accept the crown. She has discovered that she possesses telepathic and telekinetic powers and over the years has mastered them quite expertly. While riding leisurely along she comes across the crumbling city of Isyl-Belyrith. Seeing the flames and hearing the cries for help she urges her horse forward, down to the gate.
