Three days ago, I arrived in Gaia. The flight was... special, so to say. I don't think I've ever had a worse landing. I lost all my possessions in the crash. This was perhaps a good thing, since I had planned to make a new start here and leave my past behind. I had brought a few items I held dear, like my mother's brooch, but those I lost as well.

The crash burned even the clothes I was wearing, save my underwear. Upon reaching the ground, a cat that had somehow managed to break his fall on my parachute helped me get around and he found me some clothes. They were several sizes too big, but at least I had something. I did not have to walk around in them for long; as we approached the gates to Barton Town, I met a group of people who were willing to pay me for giving them my opinion. With the gold they gave me I could buy a fresh set of clothes in my own size from a somewhat shady man. I do not know how or why he is selling clothes outside Barton Town, and truth be told, I do not want to know.

With my fresh new start in Gaia, I am planning to become a man very much unlike the man I used to be. I will hide my past deep inside me, behind a mask which no one will be able to look behind. I have chosen to hide the scar on my face as well, by wearing an eye-mask over it. I feel this helps me greatly in becoming a new person. What I look like is of no importance; anyone I meet will have to learn to look past the mask.

I have been a busy man these three days. I have slowly gathered a wardrobe fitting the new me; a somewhat old fashioned garb that shows hardly anything of what is beneath it. I have also acquired a house in the Barton suburbs. It is far from the dream home I have always wanted, but it is a home. It will do.

While exploring Barton Town I have met many interesting people. The commander of the Barton Regulars, Leon, gave me a quest which has lead to me becoming somewhat of an adventurer. Since the quests I have completed for him, I have slain countless Animated and helped numerous people who needed it. I feel... accomplished. I find that I enjoy helping these people by becoming stronger. Fighting with the use of rings was a completely new experience for me, but I have quickly become used to it.

I have set out on this new path. I wonder where it will take me.
