Within The Night

The damp walls of the tunnel felt cool against Clio’s hand as she approached the creature. It stood at 5’5”, long legs, double D breasts, short black hair and a curving body; attracting its prey with its beauty. As she got closer, Clio could hear the creature’s voice charming a poor soul that would have been the creature’s next meal.
“Come on, love… I’ll show you a good time.” Reaching its hand out to touch the man’s face, the creature suddenly stopped and turned to face Clio.
“Remember me, love?” Clio asked, winking her eye and raising her gun. The beautiful creature started twisting its body as it unhinged its jaw, baring razor sharp teeth and breathing foul breath. The man screamed in horror as he ran away from Clio and the creature, not looking back.
“********’ b***h!” The creature growled, twisting its head around slowly. “You made me lose my breakfast. That’s the third time this week you’ve stopped me!”
“You know what they say…” Clio replied in a teasing matter. “Third time is the charm. And besides, you really need to go on a diet. I don’t think you’ll be able to attract other ugly a** demons with a body like that.” The creature howled as it charged at Clio, its tongue hung out and flapping with the rushing wind.
“******** DIE!!!” The creature roared as it swung down its 5 ft. wide claw, aiming for Clio’s head. But before the creature could even reach an inch of Clio stood, a silver bullet baptized in holy water pierced through its skull. Screaming in pain, the creature disintegrated into a pile of ashes, the night wind swiftly carrying some of it away. Walking through the ash pile, Clio used the tip of her steel toed boot to shift through it to find the silver bullet that killed the creature.
“Can’t afford to buy or lose anymore of these.” She told herself as she tossed it in the air, caught it, and put it in her back pocket. “One down… an eternity of them to go.” Clio sighed as she made her way down the dark street of the city.

Once Upon a Nightmare

The winds echoed throughout the halls of the ruined castle built upon the Hangman’s Cliff, causing some of the stone structure to crumble. At the base of the cliff was Hangman’s Village, a poor village that was constantly haunted by castle’s dark presence. Travelers that passed through the village always asked the local villagers of its past.
“Four hundred years ago,” a villager would always begin. “This village was once the prosperous capital of a forgotten kingdom. Its ruler, King Kirk was a kind and generous man, who always cared about his people more than himself. His daughter, Princess Darlina, was the most beautiful woman throughout the country; and like her father, was also kind and generous. Many travelers used to call the kingdom “Pleasant Dreams” realm, because of its people. But like all dreams, any second could change to a nightmare.
“It was on the king’s forty-seventh birthday celebration that he received a gift from an unknown sender, an ancient war sword. At first, King Kirk didn’t think anything of it; to him it was just another sword for his collection. But later on that night, when he peered into his reflection, he saw himself as a God.
“Shortly after, the king became cold and cruel towards the people he once loved. He developed a disturbing pleasure in taking life by slaying some of the villagers and hanging their bodies throughout the courtyards of the castle. When the princess tried to stop him from slaying innocents, he had her put in the tower dungeons where she was beaten, abused, and raped by the criminals residing in it.
“On the eve of her nineteenth birthday, Princess Darlina escaped from the tower and fled to the Seaside Courtyard where she met her untimely death by the sword her father bared. Before she drew her last breath, the princess took the cursed powers of the sword into her body to save her father and people. But when the king snapped out of the trance and saw his daughter’s bloody body, he took his own life by casting himself off the cliff, making his daughter’s sacrifice in vain.
“As the years rolled by, the castle was abandon and the kingdom fell. The cliff that the castle was built upon was renamed from Sunset Cliff to Hangman’s Cliff because of all the hangings. Rumor has it that the sword’s demonic power consumed the princess’s soul, turning her into an evil entity. She’s still there, haunting the crumbling halls and broken courtyards that became stained with the blood of the innocent. At night, you can hear her screams from when she was locked up in the tower. Anyone who venture into the ruins, never come back.”
Of course the travelers never believed in the stories that the villagers told…
Expect for one.

Beyond the Magic Mirror

Before Snow White rode off into the sunset with her Prince, she returned to her Step-Mother’s castle to collect her belongings. As she made her way out of the crumbling tower where she once resides, she walked through the Great Hall one last time. Wanting to forget her terrible past, she quickly passed through when she saw the beautiful mirror her step-mother always peered into. Only an ordinary mirror, Snow White took the mirror to her new home; where she lived her happily ever after.
Within a year of their marriage, Snow White and her Prince had a daughter named Aurora Rose. Aurora Rose grew up into a young woman, her beauty surpassing Snow White’s. As Aurora Rose’s twenty-first birthday approached, Snow White gave the magic mirror to her as a gift, not knowing of its powers. After the servants hung the mirror in her chambers and left for the night, Aurora Rose peered into the mirror. There was something about this mirror that didn’t seem right to her. Studying the ancient words of Latin along the mirror’s frame, Aurora Rose could only make out the familiar words that the previous owner frequently asks:
“Mirror, mirror, on the wall… Who is the fairest of them all?”
There was a sudden change in the atmosphere as a strange wind began to pull Aurora Rose towards the mirror. Fighting against it, she held on to one of the four posts of her bed. Aurora Rose could hear an eerie laughter echoing from the mirror.
“I was hoping that Snow White would be the one presented to me…” The voice called out to her. “But her daughter… MY STEP-GRANDDAUGHTER… Will do nicely… Aurora Rose!” The winds began to pull even harder at Aurora Rose as she cried out, but her pleas fell on deaf ears because of the entity’s power to put up a sound barrier. Eventually, Aurora Rose could no longer hold on.
The very next morning, Snow White and the Prince searched the entire castle for Aurora Rose, but she and the mirror were no where to be found within the castle or the kingdom…
It was only five hundred years later that someone found the magic mirror in an antique shop; present day.

An Unbirthday to Remember

Within the bizarre Kingdom of Wonderland; life of nonsense, madness, and the unusual is the norm. The residents of small towns, big cities, and the Four Capitals were of humans, animals, and talking flowers. Among these towns was Hatterville, where the Mad Hatter was appointed Mayor of the region. The Mad Hatter’s daughter; Rayna, was well known throughout the Kingdom of Wonderland for her beauty, kindness, and well organized tea parties. Even though she had everything she ever wanted, Rayna felt an empty place inside her heart. She longed to travel to new lands and see new people. But she was well protected by the people of Hatterville, so her chances of leaving were not in her favor.
Everyday in the Kingdom of Wonderland was an Unbirthday; but this Unbirthday was unusual than the regular unusual. Rayna sat underneath a white rose tree; sipping on her cup of tea and wondered when the gardeners were going to paint the roses red when she saw a strange glow coming from the Topsy-Turvy Forest. Setting her cup down and getting to her feet, she slowly approached the edge of the forest and carefully watched the glow moving further away from her.
“Wait, come back!” Rayna called out to it as she ventured further in the forest. The glow began to dim as it traveled further into the shadows of the trees, but Rayna was hot on its trail. As she came to an opening, she noticed a door in the middle of the field. Approaching the door, Rayna examined it closely. “Very curious… What is a door doing out it? It should be attached to a house, or hillside, or a tree.” Rayna’s curiosity always got the best of her, usually getting her in trouble. As her hand gripped the doorknob, Rayna felt that if she enters through this door that something unusual will happen to her. But she couldn’t help it; she had to know what was on the other side. Unlatching the door, Rayna pushed the door wide open to have a bright light shine upon her, the same light she saw glowing from her garden. Caution, she stepped through the door, shielding her eyes from the light. As the door slammed tight behind her, the light surrounding Rayna began to dim and she found herself in a strange place of tall buildings, lights in globes hanging high above her, and fast moving objects going left and right.
“Where… Where am I?” She asked herself in a whisper.
