Walking in the daytime is easy as can be
but like a moth drawn to the glow of a lamp
I prefer the starlit night
when the moon shines bright;
Her highness blinks and her starry sisters all wink
Illuminating the way
Just for you and me

Hey Baby maybe I will take you
On a walk beneath the moon with me
Down to the rose patch there where
The dew rests upon the petals
Bouncing back the moonlit night
Bouncing back the starshine light
Bouncing back your beauty to me

I'll cut you a rose, and place it in your windowsill
so that when I am not there
you can let droplets sit on the petals
Signal the moon
Which will begin to wink
And her court of stars will blink
Letting their messenger know
that his maiden is calling him home
