Okay, so, on my way home from Arizona to California, me and my mom realized that Americans like signs. A lot. They also like to put signs in weird places that make signs irrelevant. Here are the two examples of weird signage( if that is even a word) that are in these two states.
Arizona: When you are driving somewhere, and you are looking for a street, you will find a sign with a street name on it. Unfortunately, this sign will be about 3-4 miles before the actual street. So if you are from California, like me, you will be sitting there thinking "Where the hell is this f-ing road?!" Until it appears out of nowhere in the dark of night. The road does have the name on it, but apperently, if it goes in different directions, each side will have different names, thank god for arrows. Also, if a road is closed, it will have a closed sign on it at an angle to make it seem like a sold-out sign. Very weird.
California: apparently we like to state the obvious. Like in this one instance when you are heading north to Sacremento from downtown L.A. on the 5 fwy,(for those who want to find it if they live nearby and have time to waste.......) on one part, after the exit to some random road I cant remember, the big green sign over head said " Sacremento, left four lanes" Me and my mom then counted the lanes and, there were only four. Infact, we saw this sign twice, and I laughed my a** off. Because, though the purpose was obviously to direct people to the correct exit and such, it was place over the point of no return, as in, if you did not want to go to sacremento, to bad, cause you are going there now.
