It feels like falling.
Imagine a dream. It's a common dream, one almost everybody has, I think. And in this dream you are falling. It doesn't matter how you got there - at some point, you are falling.
And you fall for a long time, or what seems like a long time. Hours, days, who knows how long you fall within this dream. You fall for so long that you cannot imagine an end to the falling. You cannot imagine hitting the bottom.
But you do. At the end of the dream, you always do - you hit the ground and jolt awake and remember everything. Except the moment of contact. That moment is a black spot. Total silence. Nothing but the sensation of landing.
And you wake up, and you go on with your day, and you live your life, and at some point, you sleep, and at some point, you dream, and at some point, you dream of falling.
And falling.
And falling.
And you hit the ground. Every time, you wake up. Every time, the sound of hitting the ground is gone
One night I woke up
And I heard it
A roar so loud it deafened me
I'm so sick of falling.
I want to fly
