Well, after a night of trying to come up with a good white deck, stressed , with varying degrees offailure, I need to rant aboutwhite in general, or at least my white cards.
first I went for the swarm thing: tons of first turn drops to try and overrun your opponent before the can get to their main stuff, coupled with my two favourite white spells; pacifism (4), and unquestioned authority can really ruin your opponents day, especially if it also involves a thousand screaming white beasties.
but the stumbling block came with the mana concentration: for those decks you have to keep it undercut to stay aggressive, or else you wind up with a handful of mana in late game when what you really want are more little guys to replace the ones that are going to get picked off.
so everything starts out ok in the dry runs, but somehow my third drops became a persistant stumbling block; militant monk, (shackles, love that spell), and some of my 4 drops kept blocking things up. removed non-essential 3 drops. still mana stumbling eek that was unexpected. fiddled the mana back down to 22. still mana shock eek . further concentration exchange. added some new spells to try to balance a spiraling starting mana base. still no joy gonk after an all land muligan and two starting hands that could have been close enough ( scream ), I gave up on the wholes warm thing; the basic idea had degenerated intoa swamp of protaction spells and nothing to protect. scrapped the deck. stare that was annoying.
attempt two later

you certainly like your emoticons. I hardly ever use them. Unless I'm trying to describe some horrible thing like my french drama study (Anglais tel qu'on le parle), because I've been assigned questions to do that get handed in for marks but seeing as I only understand every other word, I don't really understand the specifics. That's both gonk and scream at the same time. Like Accounting. I gave up, everything balanced, but I didn't get the check figure in the balance sheet. . . and beyond that, I forgot my textbook, so I forgot the new way of doing balance sheets. . . stressed
