Vixen awoke, a dull pain coursing through her body with every turn of her head, every twitch of her fingers. A tear slid down her cheek, to her ear which slightly burned as it reached her inner lobe. Her light brown eyes gazed at her surroundings in wonder, it was dark, humid and smelled of must. The walls and floor were dingy, almost black with the dirt and soot mixing in the air around her. Turning enough to see her shoulders her eyes widened with awareness, moving her hand to grasp the protruding cable she froze as she spotted the other in her hand.
Hyperventilation kicked in as she panicked, trying to sit up which she could only do slowly, she tried to pull them from her skin. Her screams rang out as the pain she felt only intensified, tears pouring down her flushed cheeks. A voice was then heard as she paused in a fierce pant, "I wouldn't continue dear, those are keeping you alive, the process has yet to finish." It was a woman's voice, weak with age. "Master wouldn't appreciate you trying to leave so soon, punish you he will, all of us, for your escape." Unable to see anything Vixen's eyes searched the room in confusion and fear, feeling something on her forehead she froze with fright, something cold and invisible was touching her, a faint mist of breath formed in front of her then she fell back, back into the darkness she awoke from.....
