Okay...so...been a while.
What has happened in the meantime? Well, the kitten from the last post is 5 years old and we found out He is a She (oops!) and she's a surly little brat that loves us to pieces and we love her.
My oldest cat is 13, fast approaching 14.
We got displaced by Hurricane Sandy and had to move out of our old apartment. This enabled some more earth shattering changes in our lives.
I began working at the ASPCA Kitten Nursery last year. It's a seasonal gig, but I love it. This yea, I was a trainer, a shift lead, and part of the medical team. Last year, I adopted my baby Yvonne (Yvvie has her own instagram @yvviecat) and we kind of inherited my parent's cat Pumpkin since we can successfully keep the weight off him. It was a real health issue.
Still flying solo, though I'm living with my...boyfriend? It's complicated.
With the end of this season at work, I am evaluating where I want my life to go. I do want to stay in the animal welfare world. I would love to stay in shelter medicine as I feel that is where I could do the most good, but I have to see what happens in the next few weeks.
I made a new friend this season. Seriously, it feels like we've been friends forever, we're so in sync and comfortable with each other. And for someone like me that has such anxiety over getting along with new people, I'm amazed.
Lots of other stuff going on, lots more details, but I don't feel like going more into it in a public post. That's friends material.
