Alrighty well yesterday was my first day of work at the hospital and I've decided to write about it so here it is and if it pisses you off then..just don't read it. I'm in a much better mood this week and things are starting to turn out awesome since Father's Day. Tuesday I woke up like 3 hours before I had to go because I'm always nervous on my first day of doing anything! Anyways, I took a shower and ate and then dressed in my uniform (which is pretty sweet) andthen I headed to the hospital. Once I got there, I went to the office and saw that only one other girl was working at the same time named Meghan. We were sent across the street to get our ID Badges (My pic actually turned out good. Heck yes!) and after that we went to see our supervisor. She asked us which position we preferred out of Medical Equipment and Sterile Processing and I chose Medical Equipment because it lets me walk all over the hospital. Then Mrs. Fink, the supervisor, sent me to this huge room where I swear every piece of equipment in the entire hospital was (and we have a pretty big hospital). There I met some really awesome co-workers, Kris, Crystal, Kim, Phyllis, and Lisa. I'm the little shrimp in the situation. Anyways, I went on a round with Crystal around the entire hospital (which made me pretty tired) and basically all we did was go to the different departments like OR and ER and intensive care and cleaned the equipment, placed a red or white tag on them, wrapped them in a bag, and placed them in a different room. After that, we went back into the medical equipment room and me and Crystal and Kris talked about the sports games and basically everything on television until we get a fax from one of the surgeons or doctors saying that they need a certain thing and we take it to them. The best part is...I GET FREE FOOD. Sweet huh? Anyways, that was about it and it was an awesome first day so I can't wait to go back.
