Golden sparkles blind the eyes when love is in the air,
Painful spikes of longing puncture and scrape,
A heart vulnerable to the feelings of adoration.
Love makes the mind numb and blood run cold,
Sending unwanted but cherished tingles down the spine.
The swelling in the chest makes up for all of it,
When the perfect mate for the soul within,
Is in reach again.
