Now, let's just assume for a second that it could be the fault of myspace. We all know emos thrive there and send pointless 'add me' and 'w4w' all over the bulletins.
That brings another subject to attention - chain letters. Luckily, they aren't a big issue on the forums. They're big on PM's though. I've gotten chain letters on other accounts from 'save the dogs' to 'the guy under your bed will rape your sleeping body if you don't send this'. I blame myspace for that one hundred percent. I thank wonderful gaia for taking away the 'send to friendlist' button once and for all.

Cyber sex
Ah, cyber sex. Gaians get so angry on the subject. Well, the ones who aren't making boards about it anyway. I once went to a board with the topic 'Why aren't we allowed to have cyber sex?' and someone replied 'because there's little kids.' I just had to laugh because gaia is a PG-13 site. PG-13 movies usually have sex in them as well as cursing, but don't show breasts or really deeply lustful sex scenes. Therefore, mild cyber sex should be allowed, right? I suppose, if that's your principal. Just keep in mind you might get flamed and develope a bad reputation. Before joining, gaia says it's a PG-13 site. Thier parents allowed it obviously, or the so called innocent child is being a goof and joining for the fact they can't read and think it's an innocent anime site, or they're apparently 'badass'.
Literacy
Everybody is literate. I don't know the numbskull who came up with the whole 'if you're semi-literate come here' idea, but it sure sucks and makes no sense whatsoever. The definition of literate is if you can read or not, not if your writing skills are good or bad. If they can't write properly, it doesn't mean anything about thier ability to read. There's alot of people who use chatspeak because they're too lazy to write, but read fine. Although I don't agree with this chatspeak usage, I'm in no position to tell them if they're literate' or not. But I am in a position to say 'you're a lazy b*****d.' (:
The Purely Stuck-up
In any kind of online community, I've noticed a certain class of people. People who've no life at all and stare mindlessly at the screen, recieving many who suck up leaving them thousands of comments and messages because thier avatar has rare items attached. The person with these rare items usually ignores others, others except those like themselves. Their houses or avatars are usually 'famed' by gaia, and they tell thier story about how 'oh so much work and effort and life was put into this'. Put into what? Are you wonderfully elite now that you've attained a high rank on gaia? Really, I don't see how it makes a difference. You don't benefit from it... much. No money is sent to you outside of the cyber world for it, and you don't gain a lovelife or a very good friendship. Unless you're sure that person exists because of myspace or a webcam/phone anything, they could just be posting a random scene kid's picture.
