Wow exclaim This is kind of exciting. As I write this to Gaia, a wonderful three course feast is being served in Dease Lake's only restaurant--Jade Boulder Momma Z's
Restuarant! Canada's Attorney General, Iona Campanolo is visiting the Yukon and BC's north country. She and her Aide and one other attendant have driven their own car through several thousand miles of crazy, twisty, winding gravel roads up here--apparently the road to Atlin is not so hot! Worthy of political comment.

I met this lovely woman at a community gathering at the local school this afternoon. Ended up having several photos taken with her--when I got home I hurried up to Zora's restaurant to see if I could help out. And for four hours I helped. The dishwasher didn't show up for work--so guess what? I put on a chef's apron and 'hit the dish pit!".

There was a receiving line at the restaurant before the dinner was served. (By the way, the feast was amazing--local salmon from the Stikine River; roast beef; stuffed roasted chicken; roast tiny potatoes, gorgeous veggies; salads; appetizers were calamari, stuffed mushroom caps ad infinitum--and the desserts are amazing.

Back to the receiving line--all the invited guests lined up and were 'announced' no less by name to the Attorney General by her Aide d'Compt (might not be spelled
right!). I fell into line behind the two chefs, all the waitresses/servers/and last but not least wearing a sparking white cook's apron was the dishwasher--me.

Ms. Campanolo remembered me from the earlier afternoon, and we laughed about my 'changing hats'-- clothing and roles. At 8:00PM the relief dishwasher came in to work and I was recued. I walked home (yes, in the rain again) to let Lacey the dog out for a run feeling like I had a full and fun day.

It's not often a person meets the Queen's representative in person--least of all I would never have thought to meet her in this tiny community of 400 people!
