First day of school. First day of eighth grade. Here I am walking along the sidewalk with my best friend Lynn. We're gonna meet up with our other best friends Julius and Seth down by the crosswalk. They live on the other side of the highway so we'd have to meet up with them.

"You any nervous?" Lynn asks.
"Not really. I mean, we have nice teachers don't we?"
"Yeah, your right, I dunno what I'm worrying about."

So here we are at the crosswalk and there are Julius and Seth.

"Jack, Lynn, you were supposed to be here 10 minutes ago!" shouts Julius.
"Err," I say. "Sorry, I couldn't find some stuff I needed."
"Your math textbook?" Seth asks.
"Yeah."
"You're gonna be wanting that."
"Wanting-No. Needing-Hell Yes. I promised my mom I wouldn't get a crap mark in math this term." Math is my worst subject.

We walk into the school and it's totally different. They're are international students and tons of new kids.

"Oh well," I thought aloud.
"Maybe this'll be a good chance to make new friends," Seth said.
"Maybe for you guys, but I doubt me." Everyone has a huge grudge against me for some reason.

So here we go walking into our homeroom class. I just eye around the class, you know. Try and get used to it a little. Everyone's sitting in chairs in a full circle. I find four empty seats so Lynn, Julius, Seth and I take our seats. I look around the class just looking around a little bit, just getting a good look at who I'm gonna be spending the year with, but right across from me, I see the most beautiful thing I have ever seen.....
