Gaming Ethics
Give a kid a shotgun and most likely they will shoot at things that gain their attention like things that move, either unknowingly or knowingly of violence. However if given a violent video game most likely they have some knowledge of shooting previously or will obtain some from it. Even if they suffer no consequences from their actions in the game (there always are consequences) through empathy of others portrayed suffering they still will learn from it.

There are two types of violence that exist today global and local. Global violence such as war when adding both sides "ALWAYS" causes the most casualties. Local violence causes far less. Because the previous generation of people (our leaders) lacked indirect interaction with suffering from violence (as created by video games) there is an increase in global violence. I myself would rather live with the risk I 'might' die on the streets than that random people for no reason or on accident would die in some far off place.

Those whom believe video games cause violence are right, but they can only apply that inference to themselves. That theory is called self fullfilling prophecy. Believe it enough and it will be true. Your mind would rather force you to become violent rather than prove itself wrong.
