The Hate---part 5
After I was well enough to move around, I asked Phil if he would take me to the various towns with him so I could help repay the favors. He declined my offer but I insisted and he said that I could. The next day we journeyed back west to the decimated towns but when we got there my head began to hurt so I took a breather. That was when I noticed it, people were staring at me and kept trying not to cross my path and I couldn't figure out why. I asked Phil but he said that they were probably nervous because of how beat up I looked and I agreed with his explanation. We went to where their were injured people gathered waiting for the priest but they looked at me with more anger then pity in their eyes and I became un-easy. After a few hours of this I asked Phil if I could go get something to eat and he said he could handle thigns here so I set off to find some sort of restaurant or market. I passed a market and thought about going in and decided to do it anyways but as I got closer I noticed I was being folowed again. Out of no where a rock flew and nearly hit me. A child, no more then 6 was standing there ith a angry face. "Why are you back here you monster!" he says throwing another rock. I asked what he meant but he wouldn't listen and I began to run, tears forming in my eyes. I ran and ran and accidentally ran right into Phil who stumbled back surprised. He noticed me being upset and said that he was done and that we were gonna get something to eat and he said it would be better that we hadn't instead. I wiped my eyes and said ok as I followed him ocasionally looking back. Later that night he said that he was asked why he brought the demon that destroyed the town back there and he asked if I knew what he meant, but I still couldn't remember anything. On our way home, I found a red pendant that seemed all too familiar...
