Woooooooo~~~
So, I was browsing in the Barton OOC forum--how I spend most of my evenings now days--not being able to find anything mainly because the people are either too literate, or too illiterate, their post is too long and I'm lazy, or because they don't have medieval or modern/fantasy on their "things I do" list and I'm to boring to try something new.

Anyway, I come across this post that says, "I need some Literates." I need some Literates; like we're just some sort of product on the market that you just pay for and walk out with them.

Of course I didn't click the link because not only did I not want to associate myself with the idiot who posted that, but I also had a burst of inspiration which, as you might be able to tell by my two journals, doesn't happen very often.

But, back to my story. I got to thinking. What if we were just products on the market. You could pay us by the post; kind of like hookers! What if you could go to the store and there on the rack was a list of different types of roleplayers.

You'd have the illiterates who use *'s to express actions and are only out there to cyber--which is probably because they're either 12 and think they're big to masterbate to a computer screen (which I really don't understand by the way), or because they're just that nerdy as to think that if they can't get any in real life they can get some on the computer.

Then you'd have the semi-literates whose intentions are good, but they just don't have the talent or the inspiration to roleplay as good as those literates. A lot of the times I feel like one of these.... D:

Next, you'd have the true literates who type in correct grammer, punctuation, spelling, ect., and have great description and detail. They'd be the most expensive due to the fact that everyone wants them and they are a dying race. But then again, the cyber illiterates might be up there as well sees how their population is growing larger and larger by the milisecond. >.<

Finally, you'd have the "advanced literates." Those egotistical snot-bags (yes, I said snot-bags) who think they're better than anyone else because they have a thesaurus and like to use big words. Also the ones who can type two to five paragraphs about how one shirt is slightly greener than another. (It's happened to me before.... Last time I roleplayed with "advanced literates." wink They would be quite expensive, but only the other advanced literates would buy them because, contrary to popular belief and the belief of the idiot who stalked the shelfs with them, the only thing that separates them from the semi-literates and literates would be the annoying "I'm better than all you other losers because I have the self-proclaimed word 'advanced' infront of my title and you don't" attitude which isn't a fun thing to deal with.

Unfortunatly for us rich people with free time on our hands, no such place exsists--or at least no such place that I've heard of--so we're all stuck with searching for hours on end through those endless, tedious adds usually to no avail.

Heeheehee. I amused.

However, I do not consider people who feel like over-explaining their posts to be advanced in any way. Actually, I think the people who can make posts life-like, with well-made characters and good characterization, who make you actually WANT to read, and who make every moment of roleplaying with them a moment to be cherished for all eternity are the truly advanced literates. I don't want my roleplaying partners to use a thesaurus--big words should only be used if it's a force of habit.

Well, I was actually saying that I don't like the people who call themselves "advanced literate" because I believe that the only reason they call themselves that is because they want the other people to believe they are better than them when really they're not. What you just described to me I declare as literate.

See where I'm comin' from here?
