1. the beginning
Night. starless. cold. how many of these nights have already passed?
he stood at the highest tower of the great black fortress, placed upon a withered mountain.the black shape of the fortress stood against the dark velvet sky.
there was no sound, except for the howling of the icy wind. Even the dragons must be asleep at that time. he sighed. he was bored by his job- the watch- and he wished nothing more than some exciting event. not even the company of his friends did satisfy him. he enjoyed their practises in fighting techniques,but there was still something missing. for a long time no war had disturbed the peace in his home country. nor had anything more dangerous than a normal snow avalanche changed his days.
he rememered the days when he was an acolyte. a smile appeared on his face. he was so curious and excited. and foolish.
