I gave my life up, but at what cost?
Living on the streets, begging for cash
Because I only need a little more for my stash.
Being dragged into alleys and beaten down all because I'm late with pay
Even afterwards on the cold ground I'll lay.
After a few minutes I'd attempt to get up, fail then try again
Walk home alone, my sanity in a plastic bag
As soon as I'd get there I'd fall on the steps, take out my addiction and inject
Close your eyes, breathe deep, It hurts for a moment then it's gone.
Serenity has come over me, and I don't feel the pain.
I barely even feel the droplets come down, It begins to rain.
I'll stand back up, toss the device to the side
Continue my way down the street with my hands in my pockets, another day to hide.
