During apprenticeship, I did mostly tribals. Some butterflies, a Yin Yang, a fairy, a celtic cross and even a simple koi. But mostly tribals. That was ok cuz after all, tribals are relatively easy and I was like, yea, an apprentice.
I always waited for the day I would be allowed to do the big stuff - the dragon, the skull, the ********. The big stuff.
Now I'm no longer an apprentice. I'm ready for the big stuff. And as of late, every §$%&@ freak wants a tribal. Like - wtf?! Why??

Me: Hey.
XX: Hi, I'm XX.
Me: Nice to meet you, how can I help you?
XX: I'd like a tattoo.
Me: (Jesus. You don't say.) Sure. Any ideas in particular?
XX: Yea, I thought of a tribal or something. *browses through tribals*
Me: (******** hell.) *strained laugh* A tribal or something ? Because if something maybe I could get you enthusiastic about something more off-beat? You know, so you won't run into tons of people who got the same tattoo as you. How about -
XX: This one is pretty cool. *points at uber-lame-a**-tribal*
Me: (Cool? COOL? Oh scram. My grandma is cooler than that boring three-line-tribal.) Are you sure? I already did this to 3 people this week.
XX: That's ok.
Me: (Jesus ********. Bloody ******** hell.) Fine. Just take a seat over there and gimme 5 minutes, we can get started right away.

I'm beginning to hate tribals. With a passion. Why do people fancy them so much.
I'll never understand.
