Chapter Four:Yukai's Family

The girls had time to practice their powers at the Allena Lake before they had anything else to do.They continued this schedule until it became nearly natural to them.
"I can't practice today,my parents are taking me to Rockglenn Park to ride dirtbikes for a day.Sorry,see you guys later!"Kalya said and left toward her house.

Hours passed and the first signs of dusk started showing in the purple sky.Yukai was busy painting in her room.She loved painting and drawing,and she was very good at it,too.She usualy painted her feelings,past events,or her own creations.Her little studio was right by her window,which looked out onto Rockglenn Park.
I wonder what Kayla is doing now.It's almost too dark to see in the park.Yukai thought and squinted.A flicker of bright orange and yellow appeared in the distance.Another second later,it appeared again,only closer.It drew closer and closer until Yukai realized it was fire from Kayla!A worried expression lay upon her face.The fire was coming from her hands,practically scorching the handles of the bike.The flames grew bigger and bigger until one flame brushed against Yukai's neck,causing her to scream in searing pain.Clapping her hands over the burn,the enchanted flames scorched Yukai's hands.
Yukai,who was still screaming bloody murder,slammed her hands on the window-sill.In a single second,the flaring flames of fire spread across the entire wall opposite from the door.Her screams made it even worse by feeding the fire,like a lion bloating itself with raw meat.
"Yukai's neck was bleeding like mad and stung with every breath.Her hand was pressed against the gash,trying to make the bleeding stop.They were covered from fingertip to wrist with the ruby red liquid.While gasping for air,Yukai limped to the living room as fast as she could to warn her family.
The weren't there.
She looked everywhere she could without hurting herself,but they were nowhere to be seen.The fire continued to spread.It swept down the halls and reached Yukai's parents room,then soon advanced to her sister's room.It climbed toward the ceilings and caused beams to fall everywhere.The sight of the destruction triggered Yukai's Sayumi spirit.The orb glowed and Yukai grew her ears and tail in seconds.A pulse of power ran through her body and vanished.Fortunately,her spirit ceased some of the blood from dripping and relieved some of the pain.
Out of nowhere,Yukai sensed her eyes change from a deep brown to a dull grey color,and instead of the destruction of her home,she saw the remainings of her parents and sister,lying there.
Dead.
After that vision,her eyes returned to normal.Yukai soon started to cry.She wasn't imaginating her family dead,she saw the future of what would happen.She ran to the living room,grabbed her cell-phone,and jumped out of a window to escape her home's fate.
No matter where she looked,the brightnessof the smoldering fire was visible through Yukai's tear-filled eyes.She walked silently to Sarah's house,calling the fire department as well.She explained what she was doing and had their permission.She was to live with Sarah from now on.
Kayla,on the other hand,lived in an abandoned shed in a clearing by the park.Both of their families recieved the same future in the end.
