Sophia sat quietly across from Gabby. Gabby was chatting on about something then lifted up his sleeve to show her a tattoo. "Wow....Very...uhh nice?" she whispered. Gabby sighed "What did he do to you?" he stared at her. Sophia shook her head "After she......died...He got abusive, I mean worse then before, and he tried to have his way with me.....I cooked an cleaned and tri-" she started to cry again, hard sobs and chocking noises. Gabby got up and sat next to her trying to comfort her, "Its ok....Its gonna be fine" he whispered.
Sophia stopped crying, "Its gonna be fine..." Someone whispered this to her before, earlier that night. "I...Came home late..and he beat me down pretty bad. I remember passing out then when I woke up......he was lying on the floor and he was pretty beat up" she said leaning into him. Gabby nodded "And I think...I think I did it....I dont know hw but someway I kicked his a**" she said swallowing hard. Gabby kissed her forehead softly, "Sometimes when we cant handle things, Our sub-contious minds take over...and we do things we wouldnt normally do" he whispered. Sophia nodded "Why'd you leave me?" she asked looking him in the eyes. Gabby shook his head, "We've been through this already...I left because I had too..." he said looking away. Sophia stood up abrubtly, "Dont give me that bullshit gabbs!" she yelled. "Whats the real reason?" she said biting her lip. gabby sighed, "Sit down and Ill tell you if you're so intent on knowing.." he said blushing as people started looking at them, Sophia sat down, "Spill...." she said crossing her arms over her chest. Gabby shrugged then bent forward and kissed her softly on the lips. A small blush began to color her face as she pulled away slowly. Gabby, this person who had never been affectionate with anyone, never gave more then a kiss on the cheek or a small hug, had just kissed her mouth and all. Sophia looked away, "Thats why I left, If I didnt leave....things would have turned out bad....not that they havent but...between you and me..." he said turning his face to hide the faint red that had also stained his cheeks. Sophia shot him an icy glare then got up and walked away. "Wait a minute!" he yelled after her. Sophia continued to walk, she was crying now, and she didnt want him to see her crying...not over him. Gabby ran and caught her by the wrist turning her around. She looked above him pretnding he wasnt there. "Dont do this....This is why I left...So I wouldnt hurt you..." he said holding her wrist gentally. Sophia sucked in hard, "Hurt me?! God damnit Gabby! Im not hurt,...I...I..just...God!" she said pulling away walking ahead. Gabby followed quietly. "Are you really that blind? God you could never hurt me....What...What you did back there...That made me feel like I had somthing to live for, then you pull this s**t!" she said bawling her hands into fists. Gabby Shook his head, "Thats why I left..Because I knew it was going to get serious...And I knew one day that I was going to have to hurt you...And I didnt want to do that to you" he said breathing deep. Sophia turned to face him, "Gabby,...Hurt is a part of life....Its always there, sometimes its comforting, sometimes its not. I know nothing lasts forever, but just to be with you for a damn minute......That would make me happy, to feel you hold me and to be able to kiss you or even be romantic with you, that would make me happy" she said crying harder now. Gabby stared at her then walked over and hugged her tightly, "....Maybe If I wouldnt have left...You wouldnt have turned out like this,....You wouldnt be...So....closed in..I love you, I really do, youve known that since the first time I said it...." he said kissing the top of her head. Sophia shrugged and leaned against him, "Maybe if you would have let me love you back...." She yawned, "I wouldnt be the way I am...So scared and skittish, and afraid to show my feelings" she said closing her eyes. Gabby shrugged, "I'm sorry.....I'm sorry for everything I put you through, the pain, the grief, the humilliation..." he whispered. Sophia breathed lightly and didnt answer, "Sophia?" gabby looked down at her and sighed, "Guess its been one hell of a night for you...hasnt it?" he said and kissed Sophias sleeping eyes.
