About the name.
In Carol Rose's book, "Giants Monsters & Dragons"...
..."Lung" is the general term for the class of dragon in the legends of China. The Lung is essentially the guardian of the earth's waters and is shown with a scaly serpentine body with four legs (each having four huge claws), a long, sinuous tail, and a head resembling that of a gigantic lizard. Some dragons may be represented with the body of a gigantic carp with the legs of a tiger, the talons of an eagle, and the horns of a stag on their heads. Each is said to have the pearl of wisdom in it's gaping mouth. The nostrils breath smoke or fire, and they inhabit the rain clouds. Each class of dragon will have the name of its designated responsibility in front of the name "Lung," as with the Chang Lung, for example.
