GAKKOU NO KAIDAN//GHOSTS AT SCHOOL//GHOST STORIES
Eh?! What is this?!
The whole purpose of this journal is for Tsuri's purpose of release.
Not a lot of people understand her own mind if spoken to individually unless someone is attracted to Tsuri because of a similar liking. But that doesn't really happen.
Especially when it's a fandom this rare.
Yes, people who bother to read this! It's...GHOSTS AT SCHOOL! The anime that Aniplex, the same people who made Full Metal Alchemist, had created, based off of the manga by Yousuke Takahashi. Did I personally read the manga? No. But Wikipedia has shown its genius many times.
Tsuri is going by the Englished dubbed, by the by.
Gakkou no Kaidan is an anime about Satsuki Miyanoshita and her little brother, Keiichirou, as they move into their deceased mother's hometown. Uh, add in the word 'haunted' inbetween mother's and hometown. Good? Yeah.
The two, along with Hajime Aoyama, the pervert next door, Leo Kakinoki, Jewish boy with an interest in the paranormal, Momoko Koigakubo, born-again Christian older classman, and Kaaya, the used-as-a-container-for-a-demon cat, are stuck with the duty to rid the town of all its haunting residents.
Now, Tsuri remembers this as Ghosts at School because she had watched the first four episodes on ANIMAX in the Philippines in her vacation to Boracay. Needless to say, even though there is definitely better anime art out there, she was definitely interested when she watched it. However, she doesn't really remember how the script went, but she definitely remembered the story.
( The whole 'doesn't remember the script' might be a clue... )
Until now, she has never, ever watched it again.
...Until now.
While searching on her On Demand and on Anime Network, she found 'Ghost Stories.' Then, she remembered!! And she was like, "OHMIGAWD, LET'S WATCH!"
Needless to say, she enjoyed the first episode, although she forgot all the puns and whatnot until when she looked up on wikipedia later on after she watched episode 3.
Now, the English ADV dub was something to remember.
Principals looking like lesbians? Holy crap.
Tsuri enjoyed it. xD
It wasn't until Tsuri watched the third episode that she got interested at why it was so funny. Keanu Reeves, homosexuals, it was crazy, no matter how offensive it might have seemed. So, off to wikipedia, Tsuri went! And look what she found!
The voice-overs were credited to writing the script!
The Japanese script wasn't all that memorable, although the anime itself was interesting. The English? OMG.
Just so you know, Tsuri is a huge fan of the regular english dubbers: Hilary Haag, Chris Patton, Greg Ayres, and Luci Christian are her all-time favorites. And to know that they created the hilarious script just made her day even better.
So, the dub is so controversial. Fans were raving stark mad about how ADV shouldn't change the script, but a majority of the people liked it. Why not? At least the DVDs still have the original, so Tsuri was thinking that they shouldn't be raving about how bad it was.
Other than that, Tsuri has come to rant about how slightly disappointed she is at how she ALWAYS gets a fandom where the fanbase is minimal. ;~;
COME ON, GAKKOU NO KAIDAN FANS! Come alive! Make English fansites! Because Tsuri can't understand .jp or .hu!!
Where's the Hajime x Satsuki fanbase?! DX

The dubbed version of Gakkou no Kaidan is definitely something you must watch.
