Okay, so the State Meet was so wickedly AWSOME!! (Sorry Kittyfox!) We (10-person team, 1 alternate, 2 teachers) headed up to Bangor on Monday, the 9th of April. We took two vans up, I was with Scott, Luc, Greg and Colleen (See below) so we we wern't as crowded as the other van with Joe, Erwin, Savvy, JAvery, Felch and Mike.
1st Row (starting from the left): Luc Chabot, Scott Massida, Colleen Fitzpatrick, ME!! (Erika), Josh Avery (JAvery)
2nd Row (starting from left): Greg Amioka, Mike Perchonic, Erwin Cusack, Joe Grace, Josh Felch, Savvy Lodge-Scharff, Mr. Graunke
Anyway, we left school at about 2:30 and got to our hotel around 6:20. After putting our stuff away, we went to Governor's, our coach's favorite restaurant up there. One group got something called a Ferdal Deficit (Joe, Savvy, Erwin and Colleen)That's all they ate!

Next we went to the Bangor Mall. It's a pretty sucky mall, but I got the new Fruits Basket and Saiyuki, so I was happy! When we got back to the hotel, I ended up playing several games of poker with Scott, Joe, Mike, Colleen, Erwin, JAvery and Savvy, using asprin and cookies as chips. lol I suck at Texas Hold 'Em, so I was out pretty quickly. (Plus, Joe kept telling me not to fold since we were just playing with asprin and cookies... xd ) Scott turned on the TV to watch HBO, and the movie 'The Lake House' was playing. Scott and I had Savvy attempt to explain the whole timeline thing, but she didn't really make sense, so we kept watching it even though she was yelling at us to turn it off since it's "A horrible movie", I quote. Around twelve we decided to explore the hotel to see if it had a game room (which it didn't...), but we turned in shortly after that, despite our plans of just walking out and exploring part of Bangor. Anway, the next morning it turned out that Savvy, Colleen and I's door had been partly open the whole night! Luckily, our kidneys were not harvested and sold on the black market! lol
So, we finally got to Bangor Auditorium:
And there were at ton of Math Geeks inside! lol (We decided we're cooler than the typical Maine State Math Team)
So we set up with all the necessary tools:
(And for some people that includes Moxie...Yes, we are definitely from Maine.)
So we worked (Like my little photo journal here? It's Savvy's):
And then ate Pizza!!
(Yes, that's me on the left side of the pic)

Anyway, we came in 5th in our division (Division A, the 'large' school division) and 8th overall in the state, out of 88 teams. Needless to say, we were happy, considering last year we were 11th, and this is, for all but three people on the team, our last year. Basically, our team is going to suck next year. Yeah... Oh, and Scott placed 13th overall, 'cause he's like super smart and a math genius. Unfortunately, a freshman was first... stare
Plus, we were one of three teams that qualified for the New England Meet. Unfortunately, it's on the twenty-seventh and that's the day the Goverment class leaves for D.C., and all but three of the members are going. Only six people plus an alternate go to the New England Meet, and there needs to be at least one sophomore, two seniors and two juniors. We have the three juniors, but not a single (good) sophomore or a senior that isn't going to be in D.C.
Did I mention that I felt horribly sick the entire time? Yet I still managed to have a wicked good time, an experience I'm going to hopefully remember for a long time to come. ^_^ Which makes me twice as excited for the D.C. trip, because, hopefully, I won't be sick for that!
