Story: [RP]
Zhill was driving a black motorcycle down a deserted path, the sun was barely shining due to large black storm clouds blowing in from the west. he stopped about 500ft from the entrance of a large city and shut off his bike and parked it. As he was getting off he stopped next to the bike and looked at the city. "Midgar 'eh? Where will they send me next?" He thought to himself as he pressed a button on the side of the bike next to the engine. a large door popped up nearly the entire length of the bike he removed from it his rifle and sword. he placed the rifle on his back with a strap and the blade under it in a sheath that also strapped to his back. He took the key out of the bike, put it in his pocket, and began walking towards the city.
A young girl going by the name of Kikki walked around. Her onyx black haired girl tied up in two high pigtails. She wore a short black sleeveless dress and a pair of gray and black running shoes.Equipped with a black and red decorated scythe strapped to her back. She glanced around the dead streets of Midgar with her orange pupils. She almost winced at the sight. It's been like this for sometime around Midgar and she blamed the people from SOLDIER as fully responsible for this. All of their classes really where to blame. Even those SOLDIERS from the SEED branch. She looked around, seeing the many homeless kids with some fury in her gaze. Those people from Shinra were all useless, all they caused was endless children to become orphans with no one to help or tend to them. They were just some useless scientist and people who dared bear the name of solder. "Soldier, huh? Heh more like pansies." She sighed inwardly, before glancing towards her back. It seemed the scythe had equipped for self defense had become a bit loose. She reached towards it and adjusted it, tightening it up, before she continued to walk.
Zhill Walked through the entrance to Midgar. He looked up to the sky as it began ro rain. He smiled like a child at the rain on his soft hair. He returned his attention to the streets. ' One guy and get out... simple enough.' He thought to himself. He walked on down the sidewalk as he reached it then turned to an ally and began climbing a ladder to get some altitude and find a spot to set up his watch.
Kikki continued to walk around, even though the streets were usually dangrous, at the moment not a lot of people were out. She felt something cold hit her cheek, and she glanced up, seeing the gray cloud and the now gentle droplets falling from the sky. She extended her hand and caught one of the free droplets, a bored expression on her face. 'Great, I just go out to get some food, and it starts to rain.' She rolled her eyes in exasperation as she sped up her walk. Trying to find shelter, she glanced around the places in her vision rate, but seeing nothing. She felt her short temper almost reaching its limit. "Oh great..." She spoke with pure sarcasm. As she turned around a corner, seeing something move. 'Huh?' She thought with curiosity as she glanced up slowly, seeing a man about 6'1 in height with black hair. With the distance between them, she tried to get a better look. All she could make out of the guy was that he was wearing a black straight jacket unrestricted with silver buckles and some black pants. She tried to make up what else she could see, but closed her eyes as the droplets got heavier. She sighed, once more. Today was totally not her day. After a few minutes of a mental battle with herself, she decided to walk closer and get a better view. Maybe this guy knew of some place where one could find food, most likely it would not be the case, as he didn't seem to be from around the parts. But like her mentor used to say. Never judge a book by it's cover. As she got nearer to the male, she began to verbally called out to him. "Hey! Hey!!! You there with the dirty messy hair and black jacket!"
Zhill stopped mid way on the ladder and looked down at her his ears sticking up like a puppy in alert. "Thats her!" He thought to himself. He decided to play it cool and looked at her kindly. "May I help you miss?"
The girl moved her hands above her hips and gave him a glare. A doubtful look on her face, now that she looked at the man closely. His ears surprised her a bit, but do to her training with her mentor she managed to conceal her astonishment about them. His voice for some reason irritating her a bit. It was way to kind and soft spoken, for someone who was inside of Midgar, such a voice was infuriating as it was the type of voice which would weaken the soul to believe in another. She poke in a bit of a know it all tone. "Well, do you know-" She began to say, a bit awkward now that she was speaking to the stranger. "-any good place to crash for the night, puppy boy?" She spoke what she had previously planned to ask. She did held a skeptical look as she knew that this guy. Would not know how to answer her question. From his apperance, he wasn't someone who had been around Midgar a lot.
He looked at her oddly. "No miss. I'm afraid I don't. Would you need some help finding one?"
The girl blinked a few times. 'Was this guy for real?' She questioned herself mentally before waving her hand off, dismissing the rude offer. "No, I don't need help from someone so damn useless." She finally said, sighing loudly. Man, today was certainly not her day. She glanced back towards the guy and gave him a hard look. His posture, reminded her of something or someone. Maybe, she has seen that blade before. She had a thoughtful look and just as usual questioned him. "Hey, puppy boy. Have we met before?" She crossed her arms, inclining more on her left leg and tilting her head to the right a bit. Her eyes searching his own blue ones with a serious and contemplating gaze.
"I really couldn't tell you. I don't remember my past." He said sadly as he climbed down and stood in front of her. He crossed his arms, his hands never shown due to the large cloth that dangled from the end of each of his sleeves. Which where used to tie the straight jacket behind him when used properly. His ears twitched and his tail swayed slightly."
The girl gave up at his words. Well it wasn't unusual to find one of those travelers who had convinnatly forgotten their past. "If you say so..." Her eye glanced from him, to his ears and tail, a serious yet disturbed look on her face. 'What the hell was he?' Her face clearly questioned, she hadn't spoken any other words, as her attention had been captivated by this mans unique features.
Zhill looked up at the rain, then back at the girl. "We should find a place to get in and out of this rain or we'll both catch a cold." He smiled innocently at her.
The girl scoffed at him. "Find your own place, I'm outta here. For all I know, you might be some stranger who came here to get me and shoot me when I turn my back on ya." She spoke her words with pure sarcasm, this guy didn't seemed tough enough to be able to fight her and win. She glanced around. It didn't seem like there was any nearby place for her to be able to get shelter from. She made a irritated sound. "Dammit!" She cursed. She could feel her clothes stinking to her skin by now, and her hair was to wet for her lokings. She was wet. And soon she will be drenched.
"Do I really seem that dangerous miss?" He walked over and put his hand on her head and smiled before he spoke. "Come on, don't be so stubborn . That you will end up sick."
She slapped his hand away from it's degrading position. She wasn't a kid after all. She huffed at him. "My mentor always said, don't judge a book by its cover." She spoke a bit bratty like, as she glared in a vicious way, when he smiled. That smile was annoying. She has finally concluded. "I'm not stubborn either. It's a natural and normal thing, not to trust outsiders." She nodded at her reasoning, ignoring the truth behind the words he said. At this rate, she will really end up sick, but then again she had a strong physic and immune system do to her tough up-bringing at Midgar.
"If that's the way it must be...." Zhill stopped smiling and walked on past her, slowly. As if he was ignoring her.
The girl glanced at th retreating form but instantly looked away. She had better not follow like some damn puppy seeking other human contact. She gripped her arm a bit tightly, as she looked around. The rain made the dead streets look even more hallow like. She glanced a bit down, before she kicked some pebble below her, it hitting a wall and making a small creator on it. She had better start moving and find some shelter, even though her mind had decided on this, she had found that her body didn't want to comply. She sighed, before she stared at the sky, the rain hitting her creamy skin, with its cold droplets of rain. She smiled a bit, the cold rain felt comforting in a way. That stranger, he was real weird and ...and stupid.
"I'll spend the night here. She's alert of me as of now and judging by the reports she could pose a threat if I attacked her head on. I'll find shelter and devise a plan for tomorrow. For now I don't want to tell her who I am or what my objective is." He thought o himself as he walked. With each step the splashing rain beneath his feet formed small puddles. He spotted a hotel about 100 foot ahead of him. He crossed his arms as he walked and kept heading towards it.
After 30 minutes of being below the rain. Kikki walked away from the area, she had un-equipped her scythe and it was currently being held by her hands. She found some shelter below a roof of a abandoned house. She sat down on the wet and dirty floor, sighing a bit. She hated the rain, even though it soothed and comforted her many times before. She glanced a bit up, watching and loosing herself to her own thoughts, as she was hypnotized by the droplots which fell in a sync rythem to the dirty floors. She watched as the dirt became mud in some areas, or filled some mud adn water puddles in others. She hugged herself, with her scythe in her arms. She was a bit cold. She closed her eyes, and slowly with the soft noise and melody only the rain could bring forth, she found herself falling asleep, to a light slumber..
Zhill walked into the hotel. He was dripping water all over the place. The owner looked at him from behind a nearby counter. "Can I help you?" Zhill smiled. "You certainly can... one room please" The owner held out his hand as Zhill placed a small bag of coin in it. "That should be more than enough." The owner weighed it in his hand then nodded reaching a key to Zhill. Zhill grasped it with his right hand, not extending his arm enough so that his hand emerged from the sleeve, he simply carried it through the sleeve and looked at the number 3 on it. He looked down a broken down hallway and saw 3 rooms each were numbered. When he found his own room, he opened the door and walked inside. There was dirt and dust everywhere and cobs webs in the upper corners of the ceiling. He sat softly on a broken down cot and removed his weapons placing them carefully on the ground next to his bed then he laid down in a comfy position and closed his eyes soon drifting into a deep slumber. In his dream he saw a bright white light. He had had this dream before. He was being held by a beautiful red haired lady, her ears and tail were much like his own. "Mother?" A voice inside his head called, as he fell into a blackness within his slumber.
Kikki groaned in her sleep, as a dark memory invaded her mind, she clutched herself tighter in her sleep, her nails clinging to her tender creamy flesh, causing some blood to be spilled. She closed her eyes tightly as her brow began to get damp with sweat. She leaned her head backwards againstt the wall located behind her, titling her face to the side. Biting her lower lip, a small trail of blood slowly dripping from her lips. The memory of her mentor's death. Playing once more in her dreams. That rainy day, full of thunder and screams. Blood spreading everywhere; her young eyes could see. White clothes tainted crimson, dismembered bodies decorating the ground, the smell of rotten flesh invading her nostrils with its suffocating and disgusting scent. A innocent child's sacrifice. She groaned in discomfort, as images of the entire dreadful day played mercilessly inside her head. She woke up with a scream as a specific event played right before her eyes, vividly feeling the event once more through her entire body. Her eyes opened wide, fear evident in them.
Like those few years ago. She huffed loudly and almost flinched, not caring about the sting the sweat was causing her eyes, as she clutched to her scythe tightly, already having stood up to her full height, her eyes looking disoriented and searching for an enemy by instinct. She trembled a little, as her knees shacked. The fear, being vividly felt by her body, like she does on every heavy raining day. She slowly closed her eyes allowing herself to relax, but her rapidly beating heart. She squealed as she herd thunder. "Ahhh!" She stumbled backwards, losing her footing, being startled by the thunders loud sound, as she hugged her scythe to her body, in a tight embrace, her eyes half shot closely, as her body shook with fear.
Next Morning:
Zhill awoke as the sun rose the next morning. He left the hotel after packing his things and leaving the key to his room. He then wandered the streets endlessly searching for the girl. The rain had stopped and the smell of freash air hung in his nose. It was cool out, as the water on the ground was slowly evaporating.
Kikki sat in an almost lifeless position, the blood on her lips and arms already having dried up. She glanced sideways, she hadn't been able to get any sleep. She sighed tiredly, as she winced at the sting of her small cuts. She moved her left hand over to her lower lip and checked the small bite wound. Seeing that it wasn't anything serious she sighed in relief. She inhaled a bit, smelling the fresh air of the morning and smiled a bit pathetically. She turned away and hide herself in a dark area of the place she had resided in, the bright sunlight was painful to her eyes at the moment. She knew the state she was in, was pathetic and she had to much pride to let anyone see her like that. Standing up a bit weakly and using her scythe for support, she leaned against the wall. Her legs having fallen asleep do to her stilled position yesterdays night. For all that it was worth, she was just relieved that the thunder had stopped. She smiled a bit, arrogantly at the thought of it, she hadn't cried. She laughed to herself, in an attempt to get her brightness back, walking a bit unsteadily, towards the other side of the place. She needed some minutes of rest and now in the day time was probably the best time to get it, she cursed as she noticed her arms small tremble was not fully gone yet.
4(Four) hours later:
Zhill stopped at a local flower stand and bought a single yellow flower he found it to be very beautiful. He sniffed it over and over as he calmly walked and pondered to himself. "Am I meant for this? To act as a murderous monster for a branch of SOLDIER?" What would my parents think? If only I knew them..." He looked overhead to realize he had been walking aimlessly and thinking for hours.
The sun was high in the sky and he knew it was already noon and he had made no process. He sighed. "Where are you girl?"
Soft breathing could be herd from a dark moldy room which was located a almost inhabitable abandoned house near the slumps of Midgar. A young girl with long onyx black hair known as Kikki, was sound asleep while hugging her scythe to her chest. The girl had found sleep only an hour ago as the fresh memories from her previous dream repeated itself in her memories, not allowing her to gain such a peaceful slumber or as peaceful as it could be for her. She shifted a little every now and then but either then that her body kept itself still.
Zhill recognizing himself to be in the Midgar slumps after questioning a pedestrian, heard an odd breathing coming from the abandoned house next to him. He entered through a small window after thinking someone could be injured by the sound, he found the girl he was looking for. He sat against a wall not making a sound as he starred at her. Killing her in her sleep would have no honor at all and he wanted to respect the girl so he sat there awaiting her awakening.
After half an hour Kikky felt something she knew very well, her old mentor had told her it was one of her good traits. She could tell when someone was watching her from afar. She kept her breathing steady as if she were sleeping before she suddenly moved her body, scythed in hand towards the intruder, the scythe piercing the wood right next to to the intruders head. Her eyes seemed a bit disoriented and tired, she wasn't at her best and her body still was tired and weary from yesterdays emotional shock wave . After a bit, she opened her orange colored eyes and looked at the intruder. Noticing it was that man. "You?!" She spoke in surprise stepping back in a jump, her scythe was positioned in a way ready for battle, she eyed him with both curiosity and suspicioned. Why was the man from yesterday here. She didn't want to think. Her lips parted a bit, words didn't came out verbally, but they mouthed out. The world SOLDIER. Her eyes seemed to have flick with some fury, as that word continued to play in her head, like a broken record player.
Zhill smiled not even flinching or reacting to the scythe that nearly ended his life. He simply extended his right hand reveling the flower he had bought. "SOLDIER you say?"
Kikki turned her eyes towards the flower as if it were the strangest thing she had ever seen, her guard was still up and her eyes showed him she didn't trust him, but her rage seemed to had mellowed out a bit. She didn't say a word, she did narrowed her eyes
"Showing such distate to somone you jsut met, and when they offer you a gift you simply stare them down? Have you no class nor honor?"
"Honor nor class don't feed you." She spoke her words with zero care, her grip on her scythe getting a bit tighter. "In a world like ours. No one should be at ease if someone is staring at you, weapon besides them. While you are sleeping. Neither are we to accept gifts from strangers which might hold some poison or danger." She spoke her words with venom, as she had concluded this male, had to be from that damned group known as SOLDIER.
Zhill stood and sighed. "I'm sorry to hear that I bought it from a vendor in town and now its going to die...." He looked at her with an ominous intent in his eyes. " What's your problem with SOLDIER?"
Kikki didn't say a word at first but she did glanced at the flower for a second as he said that, death. How she hated any words associated with it. She noticed the glint in his eyes and a full glare was formed, she snarled a bit as he questioned her. "It's their fault. They kill people as they please, they experiment on humans and other creatures for the good of the 'world', they infiltrate and just...THOSE that kill innocent people are nothing BUTscum. No worse then scum." She corrected herself. "They are nothing but tools to their higher ups, they are ordered to hunt and kill and they do it. Who knows if the one they will kill is innocent or is just being silenced for knowing things they should not. Your leaders are cowards that can't take the first step in dealing and fixing their own mistakes. Settling for bloodshed instead."
Zhilll lowered his head to and stared at the flower in his hand. "I know what you mean... life as delacate as it is shouldn't be destroyed by monsters..."
Kikki noticed his behavior and huffed. "What are you doing! Such...a weird one. I guess you got all the loose screws for your branch." She rolled her eyes and spoke with sarcasm, his sudden behavior reminded her to much of her mentor. It was scary. She felt a greater need to get out of here, somehow feeling herself slowly suffocating."
Zhill dropped the flower on the ground. "I got that for you...I'm not goign to lie. I was sent here to kill you...but I'm done with SOLDIER or any branch of it." He turned and began to slowly leave.
"You must be kidding me?!" Kikki said as she saw him moving slowly towards the exit, she had spoken before she could have stopped herself, her weapon had dropped a little. She had been startled by the man and his sudden words.
"You won't survive... " Zhill left the building after coldly making his statement. He began walking down the road calmly to find his bike outside the city and go in search of his family.
Kikki's eyes widened at his words, she looked down towards the discarded flower and with slow steps neared it, crouching down to pick it up with gentle fingers, she didn't look outside but kept her eyes on the flowers, her eyes showed no emotion, as they blankly stared at the yellow brightness of it. "Not survive...what bullshit are you sprouding Mr.SOLDIER....I always survive..."
