Nightmares, it was always nightmares that plagued Aiden's subconscious. It was always the same nightmare too, one where she had fallen at the feet of a demon, a demon more terrifying then even herself. At this demon's feet a sword was lifted above its head, a sword that was hideous and charged with the kills of thousands, hundreds of thousands of other before her. As this demon lifted the sword, Aiden could only cry, cry for the things she would never get to do, never get to see. Just as the sword was about to cleave her head from her neck, she'd wake screaming for...for anyone since she had no one. Aiden was alone in the world, except for the small sparrow that was her soul-keeper. She had no one because she was a killer, and a killer could have no friends. Every night she would see this nightmare, and every night she would wake screaming with tears falling down her face as she cried for what was taken from her. Thankfully, she never knew a night were she did not wake screaming so she had no better dreams to wish for.
Her first view of the world was a large field that had been laid to waste, not a single thing moved in that field that was still alive or breathed air. She could smell the very death of everything that had been killed, the very odor of blood from centuries before. She could even smell the blood of enemies and allies that had fallen long before life had been breathed into her and she wrought her destruction. The iron and metallic taste of blood on her tongue was a soothing balm for her unstable mentality. Aiden had a strong intuition; keenly aware of what was happening, preventing even her own brother from approaching unaware. This was a life Aiden and Seth had been created for, a life where only death and pain could exist; a life where no one would survive.
People always questioned their existence, who their parents were, where they were from, or if their parents were even still alive. Some just thought they were orphaned a long time ago, warped from the harsh realities they faced as children. Others thought they were runaways, looking for sanctuary from abusive parents. Soon they developed into more outlandish and unrealistic tales, varying from birthed by dragons to descendents from the heavens. There even began a rumor that they was forged from the depths of hell by Satan himself with the very hellfire he breathed. All rumors have a bit of truth in them, albeit it a very small part; however this rumor was no rumor at all. Aiden and Seth were created as a pair, a male and a female to spawn a more vicious race, one that would destroy humanity and anything else that stood in their path. The devil’s original intention was for the pair to mate, reproduce, and effectively kill off the weaker species. However things didn’t exactly go according to his plan and they formed their own plans.
The pair was supposed to become mates, lovers; but instead they became siblings. The devil’s plan for a darker supreme race was foiled. So in an attempt to recreate his mission, he tried to make another pair, one that did exactly as he bid. Though when he released these new creations into the world, Aiden and Seth cut them down effortlessly, wanting no part of others like themselves. However, as they developed and grew, the pair split for their power and strength too great. New countries and nations were forming, nations to weak to fend of even one of them, let alone two. With that Aiden retreated to Europe, mainly Russia and China, whereas Seth chose the Americas with their promiscuous and vulgar ways. Both nations were an easy target, not yet developed technologically or culturally. They were perfect places to dominate until they felt it necessary to once again join.
However since this story is focusing on Aiden, we are going to follow her to China, where she first settled.
Shanghai, her new home, was a place where she gained her passion. Aiden claimed one of the houses of an upper class family, incinerating any soul within the vicinity. The house, which she grew to covet as a home, bore an amazing garden and Koi pond in the surrounding grounds. Despite her initial creation for violence, Aiden found a serenity and peacefulness in the gardens, a place were destruction was punishable by death. Often she laid beside the ponds, watching the fish swim to the surface as she dropped treats into the water, a pleasant smile on her lips. Aiden had found a place were she could find herself; find something she loved [cared for]. The gardens were her sanctuary, in a world she was destined to destroy. Aiden grew emotions in Shanghai, which festered into something as great as her powers. All too soon, however, the villagers learned of who and what she was. Their threats of banishment were met with death, but Aiden realized she could no longer stay in Shanghai when they destroyed her beloved gardens and ponds. Out of her pool of ever growing emotions, revenge rose and Aiden turned all of Shanghai into the wasteland of her first vision of life. Aiden destroyed the very ground she had grown to love and cherish, so she fell to her knees and wept. She cursed the very devil that had created her to only destroy.
Russia became her second home.
