It's a quote from "Making Money", if anyone was wondering. Anyhow, it's accurate. Been a very turbulent last year, and for reasons I'd rather not have experienced. Still, on to newer and better things, and it's amazing how nicely every awful thing has turned out. We have a "new" house that I love (an 1860's farm house) and so do the kids, which is hugely important. There's an in-law suite so I can move my acupuncture and Qi Gong practice here instead of commuting, which is both lovely for time and gentle on the budget. And what with all the crap I managed to deal with over the last twelve months, I've developed the confidence to try home schooling my son. He's brilliant enough that concerned strangers inform me he may need advanced tutoring, but he's got his father's attitude about taking instruction (any patronizing or repetition gets him tuned out), so home schooling really is the best option - up until now I just worried I wasn't up to snuff. Wish us luck with the endeavor, yes? The wee baby girl is walking, running, and reaching all kinds of things now. She also thinks pretending she didn't hear me say no is a great way to get away with stuff. Other than that, she's growing into a tall thin leggy blue-eyed sweetheart with wavy hair, a tan, and a surprisingly great singing voice. If I wasn't her mum, I think I'd have to start hating her for having good genes. As it is, I think I'll simply take it as a compliment.

Huzzah for my first journal entry! I am enjoying new-mommying with my second baby - a girl this time - and liking it extremely. It's much nicer when you have some idea of what to expect. I particularly appreciate her bossy streak, just as much as I appreciated her brother's thoughtful one. Thanks to nifty trade secrets, she's sleeping well, so I am too. biggrin
In news of the outside world, I'm awaiting publication of Terry Pratchett's next Discworld book, which he publicly admitted to starting last January, so my hopes are high for incredible goodness in my hands very soon. In the meantime, I also anxiously await further news of the Wee Free Men movie, which is supposed to be Sam Raimi's next project. Jeez, *all* the cool people work with Terry Pratchett...I think they're onto something. whee
