Within this great realm
There often does lie,
A fairy-tale princess
With prince nearby.
A big fluffy dress,
And a cute little bet.
The princes never do
Cuss or bet.
Everything's perfect;
All endings the same.
Never a fight,
Or a nasty game.
Everything's clean,
And sparkly, and neat.
Princes and princesses
Always do meet.
Please take me there;
To this perfect world,
Where I am no longer,
An ord'nary girl.
I'll rule my own kingdom!
I'll ride on the back,
Of a dragon who never
Would think to attack.
I'll be a fair damsel
That's far in distress.
Then my prince will come
Clean up the mess.
He'll trot up so graceful.
Swoop me up with one arm,
Onto his stallion, who's
Nothing but charm.
We'll ride into the sunset,
My prince and myself.
And then my mom puts
The book back on the shelf.
Whe switches my light off,
A hug then goodnight.
We'll read tomorrow!
I think with delight.
As long as I have books,
I can leave all behind.
I'll visit the far corners,
Of my young mind.
I can escape that way
Try it; you'll see.
I can be them,
Then change back into me!
