What is reality...?
Reality is just a series of events and players acting out what you believe is real.
When we accept that fact, then our world becomes 'reality.'

Now, entertain this thought...and imagine this reality...

Where darkness covered the land...
Where a city floated in the sky while the Earth was devastated...
Where you watched your best friend die in front of you...

Now, imagine if it never happened.

What is reality, besides a mirror of our thoughts and expectations?
But, what if this reality was not a mirror of us, but another reality on the Other Side.

What if you start remembering things that happened in that reality, but not your's?
Deja vu, if you will. Now, what if you met someone from that reality?
What if the two started to mix and the boundaries began to crumble?

Would you be prepared to look through the mirror?

>>>>>Once a wealthy center for trade and festivities, the port city of Wynander has been the site of decay and chaos within the last 10 years. This was a world without magic, where the most frightening beast was but a lion--but their world of safety changed quite abruptly. Unfortunately, the location of this shop is unknown, and those men who seek it so desperately only end their journeys in despair.

Persona are other aspects of your mind or spirit. You exist simultaneously in many different "alternate universes," and your existence and personality in this world is actually created by the fusing of all of your different selves. The self that belongs to another world does not have to be physically or mentally identical to the you that belongs to this world; while you may exist as a young high school girl in this reality, the other "you"--the "you" who lives on the Other Side of the mirror--may be the emperor of a kingdom ruled by the sun.

To manifest these alternate selves in our reality, Igor summons the persona and traps them within physical forms that exist in our world. A Persona who exists in this reality is thus called an Actor. Igor requires a special Tarot Card in order to summon your Persona, and the source of these Tarot Cards is a mysterious fortune teller.

But what use do you have for an Actor? Your body is constrained by the laws of nature possessed by this reality. However, your Actor does not have to abide by such laws. While you may be physically weak or socially challenged, your Actor will possess abilities beyond human limitations; they may be able to conjure fire from their hands, induce instant sleep through a song, or turn a building into rubble with fists alone.

Each Actor is unique to its master. Thus, even if two people receive the same Tarot Card from the fortune teller, they will have different Actors.

I : Infant Phase
The Actor appears to be very much like a young human infant at this stage. He is unable to communicate with his master, and is vulnerable and helpless. It is important to take care of the Actor carefully during this phase as he is likely to die in this weakened form.

II : Child Phase
The Actor is now able to move freely. Although his powers begin to manifest during this phase, he is still relatively weak and will rely on the guidance of his master.

III : Pre-Teenager
The Actor begins to develop a will of his own. Depending on the discipline he received, he will either be completely submissive to his master or a wild spirit that does as it wishes.

IV : Adolescent [ Not pictured above ]
The Actor can now be completely self-sufficient. Whether he remains with his master or not will depend on if he developed loyalty when he was younger. He is now capable of fully engaging in combat.

V : Adult
The adult Actor is the fully realized form of the Persona. At this phase, he may cast off his human appearance, or he may maintain it depending on the wishes of his master. All of the powers he possessed from previous worlds will now be at his command.

I - Actor Name
This name is the given name of your Actor in Wynander. Actors will learn to respond to this "nickname," although some may insist on retaining their true names from the Other Side.

II - Persona Name
This name is the name your Actor possessed while he/she was a spiritual being on the Other Side. These names often allude to a character found in mythology or folklore.

III - Arcanum
Each Persona can be classified into a particular category in the Tarot Card system. In "Persona," there are Major Arcana that consist of 21 cards and Minor Arcana that possess 4 cards. More information available in the Persona Caretaking Guide.

IV - Rank/Progress
The Rank marks the current stage in your Actor's life cycle. There are five different age markers in an Actor's life: infancy, childhood, pre-adolescence, adolescence, and adulthood. Actors that receive more care and attention are likely to gain Ranks faster.

V - Master's Portrait
The background drawing on ID cards depicts your primary character. Although you may supply details and reference pictures for character descriptions, portraits are ultimately subject to the artist's interpretation.

VI - Actor's Portrait
The foreground drawing on ID cards depicts the Actor you have acquired. Each Actor is unique to his/her master; thus, lineart and general artwork will never be recycled for future masters.

VII - Nature
A Persona's nature will provide insight into their affinities in battle. There are different types of reactions Persona can have to a particular element (any unmentioned elements implies that the Persona will only receive average damage). More information available in the Persona Caretaking Guide.

VIII - Statistics
Statistics provide information regarding the combat ability of Actor. The higher a particular statistic, the more likely the Actor will perform the relevant action successfully. More information available in the Persona Caretaking Guide.

IX - Relics
Only spirits and essences can be imported between worlds. Relics are often mythical objects with such great power or history that they possess their own spirits; thus, Persona are sometimes able to carry these objects from the Other Side. Unfortunately, relics may not manifest themselves until their owners have grown powerful enough to call them into this world.

To be able to obtain an Actor, you must have a special Tarot Card that Igor can use to summon your Persona from another world. Each Tarot Card represents one of the characters of the Major Arcana, and the Actor who is born from it exhibits the personality traits of its particular card.

Tarot Cards are gifts from a mysterious fortune teller who has appeared in Wynander. She seeks out those who possess trustworthy hearts, and allows them to see the location of The Velvet Room.

[ x ] There will be no set time interval for when Tarot Cards will be available. A new card may appear once a month or once every 6 months.

[ x ] Tarot Cards will generally be available only through writing contests. Every once in a while, one may be offered through auction.

[ x ] Tarot Cards will be forfeited if you can not pay for the card after you have won a contest/auction, so make certain to participate only if you can pay for one.

[ x ] You will not be able to decide which Tarot Card you receive. If you are selected to visit the Fortune Teller, she will ask you a series of questions to determine which card is fit for you.

Identity: By using a strange mechanical device, Igor is able to communicate with beings in other worlds. When he has established a contract with the Persona, he calls them through a mirror in exchange for Tarot Cards. He is a mysterious being who is able to transcend space and time, but it seems that his powers are limited by his master.

Identity: When she was a young child, the Demon Artist exchanged something precious for the ability to paint gods and devils. Although she appears young, she has actually lived through many centuries. She is the only one who can paint Tarot Card images on Free Cards that you may find.

"Let me tell you of my life in the last 3 years. Our family was aristocracy. That means that when Sehket gained control of the city, we lost all of our land, our home, and most of our wealth. Papa was able to keep us alive with his connections, but a new wave of killings began after a few years. This time, the Peace Enforcement was searching out the remaining members of the former aristocracy. When they would corner a family, they would cut them down while laughing. I know because this is what happened to Mama and Papa. I was only 13 years old at that time, so I was terrified. I escaped, but my life after that was...chaos.

"One morning, I went to the Kensington district and begged for food. No one had anything to spare during those days, but a man passing by pressed a piece of paper into my hand. When I unfolded it, I could see an address printed for a shop in an older district of the city. I felt compelled to visit it, although I was also wary of what I might find. Many of the charity houses were put to fire by the Peace Enforcement; those that were still around were under great risk.

"However, that was not what I found. Instead of a charity, it was a dusty building that looked as though it hadn't been maintained since the 1100s. There was a woman inside who played a game of questions with me. When she finished, she asked me to take a card from her deck. The card I received was the LOVERS. Next, I was to find another shop called the VELVET ROOM.

"That is where I met Igor and the others. Igor was examining himself in a mirror, I couldn't be sure if he was listening to me as I spoke. He asked why I had come. ...I didn't know. I had been running for the last year, always hungry, always tired...and always afraid that the Peace Enforcement would seek me out again. I was lonely. I was frightened. I wanted to be safe again, like when I was with Mama and Papa...but even then, I wasn't safe. Mama and Papa couldn't protect me.

"Before I said more, he took the card from my hand and put some sort of strange device to his ear. It sounded as though he was speaking to someone inside the machine. Then, something spectacular happened. The card flew right into Igor's mirror and disappeared inside of it. The room was suddenly filled with colors; I saw images of other worlds dancing above our heads. There was one particular creature in this collage that caught my eye, a human-like figure cloaked in ice, and before I could ask Igor what it was, he snapped his fingers and the creature flew to us. Igor opened a wooden box and held it out to the creature. There were dark words being whispered into my heart until the moment the creature was trapped inside of the box. Igor snapped the lid shut, and when he opened it again, there was a baby inside!

"This is how I met Elliot. He told me that on the Other Side, he was called Jack Frost, but now I call him Elliot. Igor told me that this child would be my constant companion for as long as I needed him."

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Hey, these breedables sound just like the video game called Persona...what's up with that?
A: The truth is that I'm basing this shop off of the actual Persona video game. I've changed around a lot of elements to have it fit my vision, but some of the essential concepts are still here. (Read the disclaimer at the bottom for copyright information.)

Q: How time-intensive are these breedables?
A: You can determine how much time you want to spend on your Actor, but I suggest writing in their journal at least once every two weeks and roleplaying with them frequently, if possible. How fast your Actor grows will depend on your activity level.

Q: Do I have to have a Persona/Actor to roleplay?
A: Of course not! We welcome anyone to the game, regardless of whether they have a Persona or not. In fact, one of the known ways of increasing your chances of receiving a breedable from me is if you have an established history with my shop. (For example, I have awarded bonus points to contestants in writing contests if they already have an active character in the RP.)

Q: I just lost the recent contest for a Persona. When will the next one be available?
A: I only offer a chance for a new Persona when I feel like I will have the time/energy to invest on another one. Between college, a job, and other activities, my time is very limited. The time for a new one to be offered should be estimated to be anywhere from a few weeks to a few months.

Q: Do you ever do custom Persona?
A: Customs are offered if you receive a Free Card (a card without an image printed on it). Free Cards should be taken to the Demon Artist in-game, who will paint the image of whichever character you want on it. However, there are certain restrictions for custom Persona that can be discussed after you receive a Free Card.

Q: How can I acquire a Free Card or custom Persona?
A: Free Cards will more than likely only be offered through auctions or certain special events.

Q: Do you do art commissions?
A: I went out of that business a long time ago. I may be up for it, depending on how much time I have available.

Q: Will you do a pet trade?
A: No offense to all of the wonderful breedables shops out there, but I am not interested in pet trades at this time. I have learned from the past that trying to run a breedables shop and take care of other RP-intensive breedables simultaneously is stressful. I will announce when I feel like I am capable of doing pet trades.

Q: Didn't you used to run a shop called, "Element Spirits Fae"? What happened to that?
A: I have abandoned that project because I lost interest and motivation to run it. Most of my ESF customers are receiving free Actors in exchange for the death of the other project. (If you had a child in ESF, contact me and I'll set up an Actor for you.)

Q: Hey, the card the Fortune Teller gave me was "The Chariot." I hate this card! Can I take the test over and try to get another card?
A: Uhh. No. The card you received is essentially a reflection of one aspect of your character.

Q: If two people have the same Tarot Card, does that mean they will have the same Actor?
A: No. Actors are unique to their particular master. If you receive a Tarot Card, the Actor that is born from it will be unique to you and the artwork will not be recycled for someone else who receives the same card.
