[1] PLEASE do NOT steal, use, trace, copy...etc., the artwork here! Dawnie spent long hours doing the art and it breaks her heart when it is stolen. So please don't! ;^;

[2] Mother Nature gave humans a brain for a reason--so use it! Should you start drama here? Never! Should you beg for Hespierdens? No! Should you follow the rules? Duh...? Should you be respectful to others? Yes, please! ...etc, etc. Seriously folks, it's not that hard. Think before you act. For the consequences could be harsh. Use common sense and perhaps gut instinct?

[3] DO NOT CHEAT. This mainly concerns events and includes editing posts, using mules, asking for help from others, etc.

[4] You will NOT be PM'ed when your Hespierdon grows or if you win something. This is to encourage people to come to the thread every so often. ;D When you hespierdon is at an intermediate/morphing stage (the sparkly/explosion stage) you are required to come and "confirm" its evolution or else your pet will remain in the intermediate stage indefinitely unless Dawnie knows that you are busy or something.

[5] You may NOT sell anything you own from Hesperides without permission from Dawnie. Doing so will result in your losing everything from the shop. If you wish to give your stuff to someone for free please contact the mule about it. This rule may be waved when it comes to select issues and events.

[6] DawnieChan is the ultimate authority here and therefore reserves the right to: A) confiscate your pet(s), B) not give refunds, C) refuse to serve you (such as sell you stuff or accept customs), and D) edit the rules as necessary. Of course, she won't do such unreasonably. I might be strict, but I'm nice, seriously! x]

[Q] I'm so confused! What is the difference between Hespierden, Hespierdon, and Hespierdan?
[A] "HespierDON" is the general name for the "pets" of the Garden. "HespierDAN" is the general name for the "familiars", or "companions" of the Hespierdens. "HespierDEN" is the general name for ALL living things of the Garden, including Hespierden and Hespierdan.

[Q] Who can get a Hespierden/don/dan here?
[A] Anyone with the money and time to stick around and try to obtain one! It's for just about everyone--so long as you aren't blacklisted from the shop or something.

[Q] Can I co-own a Hespierdon with someone(s) else?
[A] In most cases, I prefer only one person to own a single Hespierden. However, in some cases, such as auctions, co-owning will be available. I will specify such when events come around. :]

[Q] May I apply for a staff position or as a guest colorist?
[A] At the moment, Dawnie isn't looking to hire anyone for the staff. As for guest colorists, Dawnie will contact you if she wants to ask you to guest color. Otherwise, no.

[Q] That [art] style looks extremely familiar!
[A] Dawnie tends to be extremely influenced (art-wise) by uber spectacular artists, so sometimes her art style will reveal some of that influencing.

The Garden of Hesperides - "In Greek mythology, the Garden of Hesperides is Hera's orchard in the west, where either a single tree or a grove of immortality-giving golden apples grew. The apples were planted from the fruited branches that Gaia gave to her as a wedding gift when Hera accepted Zeus. The Hesperides, or nymphs, were given the task of tending to the grove."

..........As you walk northward from Baron town, you catch sight of a petite little cottage house. Upon closer inspection you catch a glimpse of a stunning garden containing plants of all shapes, sizes, and colors. Since when had that cottage and garden been there? Curious as to who owned such an extravagant garden, you veer over to the dirt path towards the cozy looking cottage.

After knocking on the door twice, you are graced with the presence of a beautiful lady--no, cross that, an elf! Well, she had the ears of an elf at least. She was bedecked in a rainbow of gems and flowers, as well as dressed in a silky white gown. You catch the subtle waft of floral perfume mixed with...magic?

"Welcome, fellow traveller, please come in!" The elf stepped to the side of the doorway, leaving no room for argument. Once you enter the room and settle yourself on a comfy couch you watch the elf expectantly.

"Oh dear, I tend to forget my manners! Let me introduce myself; my name is Airlia.* I am a nymph, more specifically, a Hesperide." (*Airlia - Greek name meaning "ethereal")

"Oh yes, the people of Greece believed that we guarded a garden of golden apple trees for Hera. They were...half-right. In truth, we are guardians of the Garden of Hesperides. But this garden is no ordinary guarden, it is, in an essence, a garden of myth and magic. We, the Hesperides, guard this island. This island is similar to a garden in that is a habitat for an assortment of creatures mankind has never seen before. It is a garden of a variety of lands, from snowy mountains and lush jungles to blazing deserts and crystalline waters."

.........."I don't mean to be rude, but what are you doing here in Gaia when you should be guarding this...Garden of Hesperides?"

"Each Hesperide has a certain role or magical power bestowed upon him or her. I am Airlia, the Guardian of the Gate. I have the magic to open and lock the gate to Hesperides, the only portal from Gaia to the island." Just then you notice the small key hanging on her necklace.

.........."That entrance wouldn't happen to be the garden behind this cottage would it?"

"You are quite right...in fact, follow me." with a swish of her gown she turned and walked towards the backdoor, which opened before her on its own. You peek into the backyard, immediately dazzled by the true beauty of the garden. "See the Bridge? That is the Gate to Hesperides. Once you cross the bridge and pass beneath the arch you will be transported to the island of Hesperides. || INTRODUCTION || In the Garden of Hesperides, flowers and plants of all sorts are obviously commonplace. However, some particular flowers have been found to have magical properties--but those flowers are exceptionally difficult to find. Airlia uses these flowers to mix and brew her weird potions. However, since she requires so many flowers for simply one flower, she "employed" (more like enslaved) Dawnie to find these flowers for her. Finding one flower is hard enough, but many flowers?! You've got to be kidding me--That's why Dawnie needs your help to find these flowers!

|| THE FLOWERS || The flowers below are the rarities of the Garden of Hesperides. These flowers include the Daffodil, Violet, Lily, Lotus, Rose, and Chrysanthemum.

|| CONVERSIONS || The flowers are ranked from increasing rarity and magical "potency" (the daffodil is the most common of the bunch, while the Chysanthemum is the most rare). To convert a lesser flower to the next (more rare) flower, the following exchange rate is used, however there is no trading back (follow the arrow, 10 daffodils can be exchanged for 1 violet, but 1 violet cannot be exchanged for 10 daffodils)

|| THE EVENTS & GAMES || All flowers are free--but you have to earn them! You can [possibly] earn them by: A) chatting/RP'ing a lot and/or B) winning in a game/event. Games and events where you can win flowers will be held on a regular basis and will be hosted by any one of the staff: DawnieChan, Gate to Hesperides (Airlia), Lime Colored Band-aid, Kazu-chan and Coronaviridae. Games and events will be decided by the individual staff members and can range from a variety of activities such as (but not limited to) dice games, random number games, (irrelevant) trivia questions, quiz flatsales, raffles, word games, word problems, RP-writing contests, etc. They may not even be related to Gate to Hesperides at all, so they can be mathematical questions, biological...the possibilities are endless! Details and instructions for each individual event will be specified at the time of the event.

|| TIME/DURATION || The whole "Flower collecting/scavenger hunting" event will last indefinitely long--probably as long as this shop is alive. xD It's a way for people who are active in the thread to get a chance to win something. The individual games/events will last [usually] for a short amount of time. The time of the event will not be announced beforehand and will usually be done "on the whim" or as a surprise. This gives true shop regulars and lurkers and better change. Events will be held on a pretty regular basis.

|| RULES ||
[1] All rules that apply to this shop also apply to this event, so no cheating (no cheating or whatsoever).
[2] You may proxy in for someone else, but only for free. You may also give your flowers to someone else, for free as well. So no selling your flowers. Do not guilt trip others to get flowers from them.
[3] ANYONE can participate in these mini-events, so long as he/she/it isn't blacklisted from the shop.

Notice: Roleplaying is not required for MOST Hespierdons. It is encouraged and commonly rewarded. If your Hespierdon is RP-mandatory and you are not seen active within the thread for a month (without notice) then your RP-mandatory will be taken away and given to another Gaian (your non-RP mandatory pets will not be taken away, fortunately). Check out The In-depth Hespierden Guide to see which Hespierdens are RP-mandatory (though there are exceptions).

When roleplaying, just...

...and you'll be in good shape!

Roleplaying can be done either in the shop thread (here) or in the Guild. You can RP as though you were in Gaia or in the realm of Hesperides. Pets from other shops may be included alongside of your Hespierden during the RP. Gaians not owning a Hespierden may only RP "in Gaia."

A note on Posting in brackets ("(())" wink ... This is not a rule. It's simply a common breedables etiquette so that the flow of the roleplay is not interrupted. People that are not participating do not need to post in brackets--since it's pretty obvious that they're not in the roleplay. Therefore, chatting can still continue while RP'ing is underway. It's more for people that are participating in roleplay and wish to add some off-topic stuff to their post; in that case it would be better to post in brackets so that others aren't confused. I am not going to avidly enforce posting in brackets in my thread since I tend to forget to do so myself.

Last, but not least, enjoy yourself when roleplaying and have fun!

- Breeding slots are 15k for "regular" Hespierdons -
- Breeding slots are 20k for "special" Hespierdons -
(Special Hespierdons mainly include those of special "types" such as angelic, demonic, etc., and/or those having [complex] mutations/lineart edits)

SEND TRADES TO GATE TO HESPERIDES
You will not be able to choose how the babies look. All traits and mutation(s) come from parents.
All eggs will be given to the owners of the mated Hespierdens. The owners can choose how they wish to distribute the eggs. If they wish to sell them, it must be done through the store. The money will be split as such: 20% to the owner(s), 60% to the colorist, and 20% to the shop. However, Hespierdons are NOT money-making machines. If I suspect people are breeding solely to get a profit, I will take away the option of selling babies from breedings.
What can increase my chances of a larger litter? Roleplaying a lot mainly. Lifemated Hespierdons also may have larger litters; lifemates can only breed with one another.
What sorts of "pairs" can breed? Only male x female breedings are allowed at this point. Only Hespierdons can breed, so familiars or Hespierdans cannot breed. Furthermore, Hespierdons from different generations cannot breed together. An owner cannot breed his/her own Hespierdons together. Cross-breeding between Hespierdon species is not allowed, but may be an option in the future. An individual Hespierdon can only breed every other breeding opening to give others a chance.
How many babies are commonly born in a single breeding? The In-Depth Hespierden Guide has information on how large normal litters are for certain Hespierdons as well as other information pertaining to Hespierdens.

All general rules and the respective rules apply.
What can I do with bought potions? Potions must be used immediately after purchase, so you can't hoard potions for later. Refunds are not given. You may not sell potions either. However, you can give it for free to someone else (like proxying).
What potions apply to certain Hespierdons? The In-Depth Hespierden Guide has a list of potions that can be used on each Hespierden species. Both Hespierdon and Hespierdan (aka. familiars) can use potions. However, stacking potions on one individual Hespierden is not allowed. So you cannot try to get some "uber mutation" by given a Hespierdon 5 mutation potions or something. Only one of each type of potion is allowed to be used on a Hespierdon.
Changes made by potions are PERMANENT (unless there is a potion to reverse the change). So if you don't like the mutation for example, your Hespierdon is stuck with it.
In stock indicates the potion is available for buying. Out of stock means the potion is not available.

MUTATION POTION || Price: 15k || Out of Stock
Do you dare to use this potion--and face the consequences? The possibilities are endless! From ugly slimy tentacles to glistening spiralling horns! If you're lucky you could get some pretty wings! If you're not you might end up with a 4-eyed mutation! What's that? A label? It says "Warning: mutations are irreversible!"!

HAIR POTION || Price: 15k || Out of Stock
You could give your Hespierdon a pretty flowing little mane or hairdoo! You even get to choose what hairstyle you want to give it! (Colors however, are "random" wink Maybe you'd like to give him a shaggy wild mane--or give her long, curly flowing hair? It's your choice! --and they're quite stylish! If the hair style is super complex it may cost more!

FREEZE POTION || Price: 200g || In Stock
Do you like you cute lil kid Hespierdan? Don't want him or her to grow too soon? Take a drop of freeeeze potion and your Hespierdan will remain at his or her current stage indefinitely! The only way to make him/her grow again is to buy a growth potion! So choose wisely!

MORPH POTION || Price: 30k regular, 50k special/edited || Out of Stock
Want to make your Hespierdon morph into something humanoid-ish...or may centaur-like? This potion will do the trick! Warning! Make sure your Hespierdon can take in this potent potion...and that it's an adult! It is 30k for regular[domestic]/unedited Hespierdens and 50k for all special types and edited Hespierdens. Feel free to ask Dawnie if your Hespierden is considered regular/special before purchase!

If you thought getting a rare Hespierden was as hard as it could be, think again! Scarce Hespierdens are the rarest of the rare! Might want to stake out for a while in Hesperides if you ever want to get your hands on one. Yeah, they're that few of them. :3

What pet trades/pets will I not accept? RP-mandatory pets, unless you're willing to make an exception for me (I do love many RP-mandatory pets, but I just don't have the time for them...). Dawnie is mainly offering common and uncommong Hespierdens, pet trade offers for rare and scarce Hespierdens will not typically be accepted unless Dawnie really really wants your pet (you can still try to offer however, just be ready to be rejected). Please note that Dawnie is very picky on accepting pet trades. She prefers pets of both good quality lineart and coloring.
