Welcome to Pepper-Tea's and Reapersun's joint art contest!

If you don't know us already, we're a couple o' lowly artists working on the Gaia Battle team; I'm an animator and Pepper's a vector artist. Recently, we've become obsessed with drawing avatar art, but our work schedule is such that we just don't have time to do some for everyone who asks. So with this contest, we hope to be able to give some away to a few deserving contestants, as well as receive some arts ourselves. The prizes we will award will be art only; if you are looking to win items or gold, no need to read further..

EDIT 8/29 - NEW RULE for categories!!
Pieces submitted to the "Worst" category can no longer be submitted jointly with another category; it's just going to be too difficult to decide whether an artist's piece should go in one category or another based on our judgement alone. Only the artist should decide if it belongs in Worst or not. Other categories can still be submitted jointly, since it's not so sensitive. Previous entrants may be contacted to commit to a category 3nodding

EDIT 11/10 - NEW RULE on entries
We've been missing a few entries lately because we haven't been able to check this thread as often as we'd like, so we decided to change the rules so that you may PM your entry to us, still using the same form. This, and questions regarding the contest, are still the only reasons you should PM us.

If you've posted an entry that still doesn't appear in our lists, please PM it to us, and feel free to post about how much we suck in the thread. smile

We've decided to provide a mini extension to anyone who submits a WIP before the deadline tomorrow, which is 12AM PST. If you submit something tomorrow, you'll have two extra days, until midnight sunday, to finish it up. Thanks all!

IMPORTANT: Nothing that breaks Gaia rules. Meaning, no hardcore pr0ns! Slash is fine ONLY for Reapersun's avi; Pepper-Tea ain't inta that, yo.

Reapersun - Man whore biggrin He's a sexy beast with no shame; he can either simply have a demonic theme of dress, or be an actual low level demon, your choice. If you choose the latter, though, he has no particular special powers; his responsibilities would only be causing mischief. Either way, though, he's slick and cocky, but lazy and chill; he doesn't like to work hard, and just enjoys enjoying himself. Oh, and he likes teh mens, not girlies razz

What I want: Throw whatever you've got at me! I enjoy seeing all of the different things that others think of; new ideas, interesting concepts, and different styles!
I love seeing old and new combined in strange ways. Essentially I want to see what my avi inspires you to see XD Try your best and see what you can come up with!

Pepper-Tea's Categories:


Stylish - Design-y beautiful amazing-- I want some jaw-dropping work! Good composition, great colors, fantastic drawing, and an interesting style... *sigh* The kind of image that will provoke world peace with its majesty...

Inventive - Perhaps a little different, or funny, or just a strangely interesting idea. I want something more thought-provoking here, or just something with more thought. This category has a very wide range, but can be a little tougher. Put your brain into it! (not literally, though. I don't think that anyone wants to clean your brain juice off of the scanner) (yuck)

Cute - uhh... cute. That's it. does anyone here really need an explanation of cute? Go make me something that would make a baby chinchilla jealous.

Worst - this one is fun... give me something that would make my art teachers want to burn it, then throw the ashes into space... Hopefully the space hippos aren't blinded by the ashes of your drawing... Oh! And if you are entering this one, you have to state "worst" in the category section of the entry form.


Pepper's prizes: Custom character art, to be talked over with the winner of each category. One full body character, with a simple background, or two half body characters, with a simple background, or if preferred, six chibis.
Rules for prizes: I am a little conservative as an artist, and I will do nothing that does not fit within the Gaia TOS. I reserve the right to turn down a specific type of art, but I am willing to be a little flexible. No anthro, yuri, or heavy mech please!
I'm best at retro or design-y stuff, I love drawing flourishes and art nouveau!

What I want: Anything your twisted mind can come up with. Slash, pin-ups, bizarre doodles, whatever. I want to be intrigued and surprised, pleased and astonished. As for style, use whatever you're strongest at and I'll recognize that; don't necessarily try to draw like me, because I draw like me, and it gets boring sometimes sad Go wild and be daring!

Reapersun's Categories:

Epic - Slash with every male NPC at once, surfing on a rainbow through space, etc...
The most bizarre, wonderful, and mindblowing; originality and solid art style are a plus here. Also, must make me LOL 3nodding

Sexiest - Self explanitory. Doesn't necessarily need nudity or slash, though it helps (remember to keep it PG-13 or artistic nudity, though). Art will be judged on the quality of the figure and the personality, so this is the category for connoisseurs of the male form.

Cutest - Includes chibis and more boyish body types; if you're not into teh sexy, give this one a go. Can simple be cute or sickeningly rot-your-teeth sweet; should make me squee IRL whee

Worst!! - Stick figures, out of character, slash with (ugh) Sasha, etc. Basically, if you think you can't draw, don't want to try too hard, or simply hate me and my avatar, this is the category for you! Note: entries intended for this category must state it in the category section of the entry form!


Prizes: Each category, one full body character, no bg, or two half body character no bg; worth about 250k each, so for all 4, 1mil total! Can also swap for 4 half body sketches, or 6 chibis.
Rules for prizes: No anthro, no extreme mecha (a gun or two is fine, as well as minor armor, swords, etc), no yuri; I'd prefer not to draw girls usually, but I'll make an exception this time. Please know that they, and mech, aren't my strong suits.
Boys, slash, and BL are fine and welcome biggrin

Other Notes: I decided to leave this uncolored except for the blood to make it more present. Note that Louie does not have any shadow, since he's a vampire.

This is a What if? scenario, if Moira didn't become a vampire, what would have happened?

In my head, it would be like what I drew.
Of course, you can make your own scenario xD

This was drawn shortly after the first movie came out and before the 3rd movie, which is why Moira has a tank top (I've always wondered why she had that in freezing temperature.) Also, I don'T hate Moira, I just find her coupling to Louie a bit odd.
