After a difficult journey through the tangled undergrowth, you emerge from the gloomy forest into brilliant sun. The strong light turns the meadow grasses impossibly vibrant shades of green. You turn your head, dizzied by the scents rising from hundreds of tiny wildflowers, and start. Bounding through the grasses is an odd woman in an elf suit who smiles cheerfully.

"Welcome to the Wonderful World of PixaPets!" she greets you, teeth gleaming. They are abnormally large. "You know what they are, don't you? No? You're not here for one?" Her smile grows even wider. "Oh, well, you will be!"

"Now, what are PixaPets, you may be wondering? Well, a very, very long time ago, long before the likes of you and I were about, this field was a region of magic. Microscopic animals roamed the land; kittens and dogs, cats and mice and puppies. These were known as the PixaPets, and they thrived until the magic began to fade. Now there are few left."

Shaking her head, the woman sighs, muttering something you can't really make out. There is something in her expression which makes you think this is a good thing. "I care for the wild ones, as best I can, and breed the tamer ones. There are many more these days, always looking for homes." The glittering smile is back, and she bounces on her toes. "Surely you can find a companion today! We have many breeds, and sometimes a little something new and special turns up."

03 May 05 - There are still Charity Pets up for grabs for those of you interested in Quest Donator pets and/or Golden Tabby Parent-kit sets. I believe I'll be making the Quest Donators a staple in this shop. Once my own quest is done, I'll be choosing someone else's quest to offer them up for. The Golden Tabby Parent-kit set will be on sale only until Prolixity gets his child, so get those while you can!

Other news - holiday pixa naming is over with. None will be taken away, of course, but only those already named will be certed as normal pixas are. The Valentine's Day pixas are slowly getting certed and ready to go, so please bear with me - I'm having to ask for information again on many of them, due to that stupid PM glitch and the fact that I've procrastinated so very long.

Final news - all this is leading up to a huge flatsale, likely starting next week. Keep your eyes peeled. If you've wanted a particular breed, you should be able to get it then. And I'll be working on another cosplay set for an upcoming auction as well.

23 Feb 05 - Still on partial hiatus. However, we have an upcoming cosplay set for auction on Saturday. Zero Dream is this set's creator.

On another note: PEOPLE! PLEASE GET YOUR CHRISTMAS PIXAPETS NAMED! There are still a ton uncerted because I do not have names yet! If you've named yours but purchased some for people who haven't... get them over there to name their pets! PLEASE!

01 Feb 05 - NEW THREAD! And with the new thread? A month-long celebration for the upcoming 1-year anniversary of Pixapets. Over the next month, in addition to the Mardi Gras and Valentine's events, and the Letter Cosplays, we'll be having several other events that will give everyone plenty of chances for more pixapets.

General

1. Please direct-link your Pixapets at all times. I have included an "event" window in the new certificates. This window will never cause you to purchase anything, but may alert you to some special events your pet may wish to participate in.
2. Do not steal these images.
3. Do not alter these images without express permission by either Lemonlime or Trio Maxwell-Chang.
4. Be courteous to others in this thread at all times.
5. Do not use PMs or Instant Messengers to request Pixapets. They will be ignored and may earn you a place in the Black List. The only exception to this is if you wish to send an anonymous gift to someone from available pets. Please note that failure to read the information in the first page (and I will be able to tell) will have the same result, even if the PM is for an anonymous gift.
6. Co-owning a Pixapet is allowed.
7. Do not whine or pout if you do not own a Pixapet. And do NOT bother those who do own one. Such behaviour will earn you a place on the blacklist.
8. Your Pixapet will NOT go away if you do not RP it. However, those who RP their Pixapets regularly and often may find they gain more benefits than those who do not.
9. PLEASE post a name in the thread for the pets you buy... I cannot make the certificates without a name.
10. Pixapets are NOT reserved. If you do not have the money to buy a pet, or tickets, or bid, please do not attempt to. Simply wait until you can pay for it.
11. I am not required to remind you to read the rules. If you have not read them or do not comply with them, I am not required to point it out. I will most likely simply ignore your request, so please be certain to read the rules.

Roleplaying

1. Roleplaying is encouraged on this thread. We would love to see you RPing here.
2. RP here is not limited to the Pixapets. Every pet you own is welcome to join in the fun.
3. Do not god-mode. You are not invincible. Your pets are not invincible.
4. Do not abuse another person's pets or character without their permission. It is rude and obnoxious.
5. Do not play other characters for their owners. You do not know what is IC and OOC for the characters. This, too, is rude and obnoxious.
6. Pixapets have human intelligence and are capable of human speech. However, most tend to keep this knowledge from their owners. Please bear that in mind.

Flat Sales

1. All flat-sales are currently valued at: 200g (Domestic) and 500g (Wild)
2. Flat sales will be clearly posted on the first page AND the current page in the thread.
3. Flat sales will NOT begin until I have posted a 'go' post. At that point, you may post a request for your Pixapet.
4. A post must include which Pixapet you want. Any request for "any cat left" or "whatever's available" will be ignored.
5. There is no limit to the number of Pixapets you may buy in a flat sale, and there is no limit to the number of Pixapets you may own.
6. Pixapets may be co-owned.
7. Any person caught asking one of the flat sale winners to give up their Pixacat for any reason may earn themselves a place on the blacklist.
8. Once you have posted the request (complete with name), you MUST begin a trade before I will begin certing them up.
9. See the Detailed Ordering Procedure section (next post) for how to order during flatsales.

Raffles

1. All raffle tickets are currently valued at: 25g (Domestic) and 50g (Wild)
2. Raffles will be clearly posted on the first page AND the current page in the thread.
3. Both posts will contain links to the raffle thread.
4. There is a limit of ten tickets per person, however, you may buy as many tickets for other people as you wish.
5. When all tickets are sold, I will use randomizer.org to choose the winning ticket.
6. See the Detailed Ordering Procedure section (next post) for how to order tickets during raffles.

Auctions

1. All auctions start at: 700g (Wild) and 1000g (Cosplay)
2. Auctions will be clearly posted on the first page AND the current page in the thread.
3. Both posts will contain links to the auction thread.
4. Auction times will be clearly listed on the first post of the auction thread.
5. No sniping: Anyone bidding during the last ten minutes of the auction must have bid before that time.
6. I will post a closing post. Any bids before that post do count.
7. Please note that whining or asking a person who has decided to bid/autobuy not to do so will result in you immediately being put on the black list. I do not condone such behaviour.

Special Sets

1. All special sets are currently valued at: 300g apiece (Full set prices vary)
2. Special sets begin on server time. The 'go' post is NOT required, as I sometimes may not be around to open the sale.
3. Special sets close on server time. The 'stop' post is NOT required, as I sometimes may not be around to close the sale.
4. The post must include what type you want, what species (cat, dog, or mouse), a name, and a gender. Without this information, I cannot cert the animals.
5. Special set pixapets are limited to one type per species. Any single Gaia user may only own so many, even if he or she chooses to give the pets to an alternate identity (mule) or a gaia-based pet.
6. Pixapets may be co-owned.
7. Once you have posted the request (complete with all information listed above), you MUST begin a trade before I will begin certing them up.

User Image

1. How do I get a Pixapet?
Your best bet for getting a Pixapet is to wait for a flat sale, auction, raffle, or reserve a custom spot when those open. Flat sales and some raffles will offer the standard grouping of domestic cats, dogs, or mice, or wild cats or dogs (or occasionally a mix.) Auctions and the rest of the raffles will offer rare Pixapets, such as the Mardi Gras Pixacats raffled off during the reopening of the shop. Custom slots are for when you have a definite idea in mind that is not listed on the standard breeds list.

2. Who do I pay, and how?
You can pay for your new Pixapet (obtained through flat sale, auction, or custom slot) by sending a trade to Trio Maxwell-Chang for the amount agreed upon. Check the prices in the rules. The trade you send will remain unconfirmed until I am ready to send you the Pixapet, whereupon I will confirm the trade, then post the cat in Pickup immediately afterward, so that you can check on your cat before the money reaches me.

3. Last time the shop was open, I paid before I got the cat and then had to wait a long time. Will that happen now?
No. That wait was due to a great deal of stress and strain entering Lemonlime's life. The new shop has been set up and organized to prevent that from happening again. You might have to wait a day or two, if I am dealing with everyday Real Life, but no more.

4. The name I want is already taken! Can I still use it?
Not if you want it to be listed in the Official Owner List. However, you're more than welcome to use a variation on the spelling, such as Leesa for Lisa.

5. I like these Pixapets, but I want something rare/unique/different/unavailable. What can I do?
If you want rare, there will be occasional auctions and raffles to suit your needs. For unique or different Pixapets, you should wait until a custom slot has opened up and then place an order. For unavailable pets, I recommend exercising a bit of patience and waiting for when they become available.

6. Can Pixapets speak?
Yes, but they rarely do. There's the occasional vocal one, but most tend to stick to animal sounds and body language. Human speech is inferior in their eyes.

7. How large are Pixapets?
Pixapets are miniscule, with the domestic cats growing to be about the size of an average adult white mouse, and the wilds growing to be about the size of an adult (pet store) rat. Pixapups are proportionally sized to the cats, so a Great Dane still has a good chance of sending a cat up a tree... though a sapling would do just fine. Puppies and kittens are just slightly larger than a jelly bean. Pixamice are smaller, of course, proportional to the other breeds. If you let a pixamouse roam free, I suggest being VERY careful where you step!

8. Do you offer pet trades?
I'm willing to entertain the idea, but I make no promises save that I reserve the right to refuse any suggested trade.

9. Will you PM me if one is available/if I can buy the available pet/with my new pet?
NO! *sighs* I will not PM you with your new pet - they're all posted in Pickup for you to retrieve on your own. It's part of being an owner. I will not PM you if one becomes available. That's called a mailing list and I very definitely do not have a mailing list for my thread. If you want to know when they come available, check the available post periodically. I can guarantee that if you miss one sale, you'll find another. I hold them fairly often. I will further not PM you in order to let you know that yes, you may, in fact, buy the available pet. My ordering procedure is not difficult, as proven by the 400+ other pets sold. Follow it, and you'll recieve your pet.

10. Why are you thinking of raising the autobuy price on cosplay Pixapets?
When I created the original autobuy of 5k, I felt that it was a price that could potentially be met, but would be highly unlikely. While I'm thrilled that people like the cosplay Pixapets enough to autobuy them so often, it's left me a little startled as to the swiftness of some people deciding to autobuy rather than bid.

Considering that Pixapets is, in fact, a business, I've been looking at things from a businessman's (or woman's) point of view, and frankly, given what I'm seeing, I'm inclined to raise the price. I'd like people to be able to participate in auctions without having the pet snapped away at the drop of a hat within five minutes of the auction. So, I'm raising the autobuy price.

11. So why 10k, then?
Honestly? Ease for me - all I did was take the existing number and double it. That's the reason I've posted the poll. I really want to hear what people think on the matter. While the price will be raised no matter what, the exact amount it will be raised TO is still in consideration.

12. Can I purchase a pet for my future feien (or other Gaian pet)?
Only if said pet does exist in some tangible form (actual artwork, as opposed to a concept you have yet to recieve) AND you are the owner of said form. In other words, if you're planning to stalk a flatsale, buy the pixapet AFTER you've won the flatsale. If you're planning to breed and keep offspring, or have a pet trade in the works, you must have recieved the first stage of the pet before you may purchase a pixapet for said pet. However, you are welcome to transfer ownership from yourself to one of your pets at any time. Simply PM me with the details. (Note: The feien introductory offer only applies to blooms, adolescents, and adult feien, NOT their bonded humans.)

13. Is there an official word for a grouping of pixapets?
Yes. The official title of a group of pixapets is a swarm. TormentedAngie is to thank for dubbing them so, and it stuck. So those of you who collect pixapets have a "swarm of pixapets" at your house.

14. Can a pet not technically part of Gaia own a pixapet?
No. While I do allow other pets to officially own pixapets (officially own meaning that their name is listed on the certificate), I am drawing the line at pets who do not actually have any contact with their Gaia 'owner'.

15. Why has my pixapet been in pickup FOREVER?
I don't take pixapets out of pickup until they've been safely placed in the Owner's List. This ensures that no matter whether they're in pickup or not, you can always retrieve the link if necessary.

16. Can you be bribed?
To be utterly honest, yes. I don't see why you'd want to, or why you couldn't just wait for the next flat sale or raffle or auction. But if you really want to bribe me, the list of bribes I'll take is below, in tiny type. *laughs*

Pets
- Kyunru
- Dream/Daydream/Sentinel
- Winged Pard
- Verlashi
- Nereid
(I'm aware that I already have most of these pets, but bribery does not always necessary go to me in the end.)

Items
- Angelic Sash - I will love you forever if you bribe me with this.

Flat Sales

This is to clarify some apparent confusion about the proper ordering procedure of Pixapets during a flatsale. Because Pixapet sales inevitably seem to take longer than a few hours at a stretch, and the longest has spanned almost a month, I've developed this ordering procedure in order to ensure that I am not required to be here 24/7. (Because, y'know, I have a life, too. ^.^)

1. Check available post and pet ordering limit. If there is a limit to how many pets you may purchase in a flatsale, it will be noted in the available post. If you're unsure as to whether the pet you want has been taken, start the order anyway - I will NOT take money without giving back a pet in return, so if the pet is already taken, your trade will be cancelled.
2. Post your request in the thread. DO NOT PM me with your request details. Your request should include: breed, gender (if there is a need to specify), and name. Without these three pieces of information, I cannot create the certificate for your pet.
3. Begin a trade for the appropriate amount. This step is important to me, since it weeds out those people who can read from those who cannot. All amounts are clearly listed in the rules post.
4. Be patient. In RL, I have a husband and child, and must occasionally tend to their needs as well as my own. When I am able to sit down and make up the certificate, I will do so, but only if I have all the information and there is a trade pending.
5. Once the pet is complete, I will post it in pickup and then confirm the trade. This is your cue to come see your new pet.

Raffles

This is to clarify some apparent confusion about the proper ticket ordering procedure of Pixapets during a raffle. Because Pixapet raffles inevitably seem to take longer than a few hours at a stretch, I've developed this ordering procedure in order to ensure that I am not required to be here 24/7. (Because, y'know, I have a life, too. ^.^)

1. Check to see how many tickets a single person is limited to. Right now, the usual number is ten. If there is a special case, it will be clearly stated in the available post.
2. Place an order in the thread for as many tickets you want provided that number is equal to or less than the limit. You may specify numbers. If your number is taken, I will give you the closest number possible.
3. Start a trade for the appropriate amount. Single ticket prices are posted in the rules post.
4. I will confirm the trade, then go type your name into the tickets you hold. I will add an asterisk (*) to the end of your name, and once you have confirmed the trade in return, thus sending me the money, the asterisk will come off of your name. If the trade is cancelled, the tickets will be deleted in return.
5. I will not draw the prize numbers until all numbers are filled with a single name without an asterisk.

I hope this guide helps everyone. I'm tired of tracking people down to go through the proper procedure.

These sets have been claimed by various cosplay artists (including myself) and will appear eventually. Please note: the artists' time is limited, and they're doing these because they love pixapets. Polite feedback and notes about what characters are liked is encouraged. Please do not bash any characters. Please be polite when inquiring about a set - pestering will only end up making me angry.

These two pets are specially available for Trio's Angelic Sash Quest. To get them, visit her quest thread and follow the directions there.

These little cuties are a relatively unique breed - as with all Parent-Kit sets, the kitten cannot breed, but the parent can. Neither is changing, of course.

This set was created specifically for Prolixity's GMFC Quest (it only seemed appropriate to have a special offer be a Parent-Kit set, ne?). They cost 600g, and there is no limit to how many a single person may own. Please send the gold to Trio Maxwell-Chang - I'll need the trades to help me ensure that everyone who purchases gets their pets. 100% of the money will be sent along to Prolixity, never fear.

Price: 600g
Include: Names and genders for both Parent and Kitten when ordering. Please specify that you would like the gold tabby set!
Special Note: Kittens are not breedable or changing. Parents are breedable.

Domestic Felines

User Image

Albino: This breed of cat is very shy, and very hard to find. If you prove trustworthy, they will love you forever, although blindly. There are very, very few who possess the ability to see, even so they require glasses.

Balinese: These cats are very cautious, and easily afraid. They are loners, yet admire the company of an owner, and will definitely love you forever.

Bengal: These cats are very playful and active, and are always ready for a playfight. Brave and cunning, their meow is far better than their scratch. Although all this may seem as if they are quite vicious, they adore laying on someone's lap and being petted.

Birman: These cats just think they rule over everyone. They are bossy, and self-reliant, and hardly ever appreciate their owner. Yet, rumours spread that this one left was a dud. He may be bossy, but does he ever enjoy a good scratch behind the ears, and curling up on the end of his owner's bed.

Black: So many rumours... In many countries, it's a bad omen if a black cat crosses your path. In other countries, it's good luck. This cat may be very mysterious, and dark at times, but all he wants is a little bit of love.

User Image

Bobtail: This poor cat seems to have lost his tail. However, bobtail cats are born tailess, as they don't need the balance. They are usually found bouncing off the walls, or running into things, as they are rather hyperactive.

Calico: These pets are noble. They hiss at others, but if the owner is seen, they will come rushing up and jump into your arms. Even if you haven't had a shower, and trust me, that's nobility for you.

Ginger: These cats are all-around loyal. Oh my, it seems my cat has run away. Uh-uh. Not with this cat. It wouldn't run away even f you ordered it to. They are found trailing their owner's steps, or curling up at their feet.

Manx: Manx are playful, but they're climbers! Beware, you may find them perched on the very highest point in the room, looking down like Queen of the Manor. Some even show "dog-like" behaviour - they fetch toys and bury them!

Moggy: These cats, they make you want to pick them up and take them home without paying. But please don't! But, they are so huggable, and cuddly, and just asking for what they get. And don't get me wrong, they love it to pieces. All that attention. Me-ow.

User Image

Persian: These cats are always by your feet, and can get quite annoying. It's easy to trip over them, or hurt them by accident, but all they want is a hug. They'll jump up into your arms, and purr until their throat grows sore.

Ragdoll: Aw, these pets are just a great, big blob of fur that walks. Warm, cuddly, and all-around cute, and rather rare as well. They are found bouncing around, or curled up in front of the fire.

Russian Blue: These cats know how to look after their fur. Soft. Gentle. Warm. They are like a walking, meowing, living blanket. They usually are nuzzling at your ankles, or trying to climb up your body, but all they need is training. They truly are a lovable pet.

Scottish Fold: I'm quite disgusted. So many people look at these adorable pets as if they are foreign, or from space. Just because their little ears are folded back. I find that just, gorgeous and utterly adorable. I just, don't understand. All they do is curl up at your feet, and snuggle when you're feeling down.

Siamese: Ah, yes. Everyone's favourite, stuck-up cat. Although they have far too much self-importance, they can also be quite charming, and loving. And though they deny it, they do love to be snuggled.

User Image

Tabby: This cat is so friendly to others, you would swear it was their mother. Although moody, they love to be social, and hang around with friends. If called, they will return to their owner, and jump in their arms for a hug.

Turkish Van: These creatures are even more stuck-up then the siamese, but, they are also stubborn. They won't be taken for granted, and it'll take a while for them to warm up to you. Perfect for those who like to train hard labour.

Wild Felines

User Image

Cheetah: This creature is oh-so-very playful, and always in for a game of tug-o-war, or a wrestle. But watch it, the cheetah it may be small, but its bite, well, it'd be too gory for children to see. But don't let that fool you, they love to be snuggled when calmed.

Jaguar: The Jaguars, well ... They are loud. They love to roar, so, don't be expecting too much sleep. They love to be hugged, so don't hold back, just watch out for your ears!

Leopard: Yes, yes, the leopard. These creatures are usually found jumping off trees, or your lounge room walls. And, don't sneak up on them, unless you find having no nose amusing. They love a good pet, but not too long, they may grow bored and gnaw your hands.

Lion: Although known as man-eaters, they are rather loyal, and will never leave the house. Brave, pah! They are afraid of almost everything, so don't be fooled by that, King of the Jungle act. Alright?

Lioness: These are very protective. They won't let anyone near you unless on command, and just adore a good snuggle in bed. There simply is much more to the Lioness than you think.

User Image

Lynx: The lynx, well, are harmless. They are like a domestic cat, except bigger, and, their teeth and ears are sharper. Besides the physical, they will adore you until the cows come home, and trust me, that won't be anytime soon.

Snow Leopard: My favourite big cat, the Snow leopard. They adore to be petted for a while. Not too long, you have been warned. They will love you forever, unless you harm them or their young.

Snow Tiger: How adorable. Their roar is worse then their bite. Just look through their eyes: when they feel threatened, they bite. Otherwise, they'll stand by you through thick and thin, and love you until eternity and a day.

Tiger: Aww, they are just so soft, and huggable most of the time. Please, put them on a diet of milk and rabbits though. They tend to get vicious with anything else, and you may end up the dinner yourself.

Domestic Canines

User Image

Beagle: These dogs are friendly, happy pups, well-suited to families and young. They love attention, and will beg for it if they don't get as much as they feel they need.

Border Collie: Active is an understatement for these tireless dogs. They're intelligent, very easy to train, and wonderfully alert without being over-aggressive. Just be warned - they require a LOT of exercise!

Boston Terrier: The boston terrier is an extremely intelligent, very lively dog. They let off lots of energy, but they're easy to train and take well to an owner who likes to think.

Chihuahua: The perfect dog for the lazy owner who loves cuddling. Chihuahuas are definitely lapdogs - they fit perfectly and enjoy a good snuggle. But while they're very energetic, they're small enough to get all their exercise without their owner ever needing to leave his seat.

Chow: Chow-Chows are proud, suspicious animals, perfect for watchdogs or guards. It maintains a dignified air whenever possible, and is somewhat aloof from other dogs.

User Image

Collie: Loyal, sweet dogs, Collies make perfect quiet companions. Like beagles, they're good with families and young, but they have a tendency to choose a particular person to attach to.

Dalmatian: Dalmatians are quiet and dependable, but very dignified creatures who dislike looking badly. They love to be groomed and enjoy strutting about, but their protective natures make them even better if you need a tiny watchdog.

German Shepherd: German Shepherds come highly recommended, both for intelligence and temperament. They're loyal and protective dogs, but hardly stupid - not only do they possess high intelligence, they are also very sensible dogs.

Great Dane: Danes are calm and friendly, sometimes earning them the reputation of being rather stupid. However, these dogs are not stupid. They merely enjoy considering everything before making up their minds, which sometimes ends up with them being a little slow to act.

Husky: Huskies are outgoing, friendly creatures that are both highly intelligent and packdogs. They love working as a group, and enjoy contact with others.

User Image

Mutt: They are friendly, obedient dogs that are sometimes slow but very loving. They can get themselves into tons of trouble when they go bounding off for fun, though, so be careful!

Poodle: Poodles are versatile, adapting themselves easily and quickly to new places and people. But they're still highly loyal creatures, willing to do pretty much anything for an owner who treats them well. The fact that they dislike to be treated poorly makes them sometimes come across as a bit of a prima donna.

Schipperke: Tiny, active bundles of fur, Schipperkes are incredibly friendly, showering attention on anyone they meet. They're as curious as any cat, often getting themselves into a bit of trouble when they take their inquisitive nature too far.

Sheepdog: Known officially as Belgian Shepherd Dogs, these are herders, and well-known for their alertness and vigilance. They're very protective of their owners, but not vicious. And with people they trust, they're affectionate and friendly.

Yellow Lab: While the Labrador has the smarts, this dog's main recommendations come from its kindness and gentle spirit. They're the perfect family pet.

User Image

Golden Retriever: One of the best dogs you could own, these retrievers are gentle-mouthed and reliable. Intelligent and trustworthy, retrievers are perfect aides for those who need help, whether it is with watching young or guiding others.

Wild Canines

User Image

Arctic Fox: The arctic fox is a clever little beast, and uses his mind to keep himself from doing too much work. Like most of his kin, he's well aware of how good his camouflage is in the snow, and can use it to get all the food he wants. Be careful... you might find him trailing after you at home, trying to sneak food away there, too!

Arctic Wolf: A rambling loner, this Wolf is used to the harsh climates of the North and to fighting daily for survival. You, however, get to make their lives much easier, and are certain to win their love and respect while doing so.

Coyote: Incredibaly adaptable, these clever animals can roll with nearly anything life throws at them. You may have to watch them around the felines, though... They love nothing better than a quick nibble on an unwary cat.

Dingo: Ignore everything you've ever heard about these fellas. A native canine of Australia, they form strong lifetime bonds with both Dingos and humans, and are fiercely territorial. They seldom bark, but are fluent in many other vocalizations, so they'll be sure to let you know what they want.

Fennec Fox: Though the smallest of the canine breeds, the Fennec easily makes up for that with the size of their ears. Definitely lovers rather than fighters, you'll have to be careful, lest your Fennec set up house with multiple partners.

User Image

Fox: I can't stop a shudder when I think about all the hurt these cunning beasts have endured over the centuries. Our cunning Foxes are assured never to have to fear the baying of the other dogs, however, and are happy to find a home with you.

Hyena: A little absent-minded, Hyenas certainly aren't the cowards they're made out to be. Their wickedly-off sense of humor tends to earn them more strange looks than friends, but that's fine by them. They'll quickly forget that you didn't like them, and try again the following day.

Red Wolf: More solitary than its cousin, the Timber Wolf, Reds are still as protective of those they claim, when they finally do claim them. Don't be worried if your Red is a little stand-offish at first; it won't be long before its eating out of your hand.

Timber Wolf: A social creature, this breed of wolves protects their own fiercely. You can rest assured that the Timber Wolf will never leave your side, unless it's to make a new friend, but they'll soon come back.

All sprockets are mischievous. They continually cause minor problems and get into all manner of trouble. Sprockets can speak three languages - Binary, English, and their own elemental language - and are capable of child-like intelligence.

Sprockets cost: 40g each

Air Sprocket: Air Pixasprockets tend to be flighty things whose attention is difficult to hold. They often daydream and can be surprisingly soothing.

Data Sprocket: Data Pixasprockets are scholars, focusing on fact and research. (They can also be considered nerds.) They're a curious sort, determined to find answers to any question they come across.

Earth Sprocket: Earth Pixasprockets are stolid, calm, focused sorts, slow but steady. They're not simple-minded. Far from it, really. They simply prefer to consider everything before coming to any decision.

Fire Sprocket: Fire Pixasprockets are fast, quick-witted, and highly temperamental. They love a good fight, but they also love to warm and comfort others.

Love Sprocket: Love Pixasprockets are... well... lovey sorts. They're fond of affection, and enjoy touch and cuddling.

Psychic Sprocket: Psychic Pixasprockets know your deepest thoughts... (or at least, the surface thoughts you don't really bother to hide anyway). They're clever sprockets, and very strong mentally.

Water Sprocket: Water Pixasprockets are ever-changing and tempestuous. These sprockets can be thoughtful and contemplative one minute, and then violent and wild the next. You can never tell.

User Image

Each new owner of any pixasprocket will recieve one free S-Tone. These special S-Tones are incredibly powerful machines. They can handle most tasks that normal S-Tones can handle, but are not capable of holding any sprockets larger than a Pixa-sprocket. Extra S-Tones will cost 30g apiece.

They will eventually be available in multiple colors.

Please click on either of the above pictures to go to Moorgahaine's Emporium and Forge, where the Pixasprockets first came into being.

4. Custom Pixapets generally take about a week, so please be patient.
5. There are six slots for customs. When those are closed or full, please be patient.
6. I do not reserve custom slots. If you want a custom, keep an eye for when the slots open and snag one then.
7. Custom Cosplay Pixapet spots are currently being re-evaluated.
8. Allow me to reiterate one of the rules mentioned in the Rules post above. Please do NOT Private Message me OR Instant Message me asking for pets or customs. Available pets and open slots are always clearly posted.
9. You may request a custom spot for someone else, and you may request multiple custom spots in one go (but they must be separate posts). However, you may never request more than one spot, and each spot MUST go to a different person. (In other words, you may not actually hold more than one custom spot at a time.)
10. If you have something truly special you wish to do, first secure the custom spot. Then discuss whether I'm willing to do it and if it truly is something extraordinary, we will discuss specific pricing.

Ordering procedure
1. Wait until the slots are open before requesting one. The opening will always be announced in thread, as well as posted here.
2. Request the slot you want and wait for Trio Maxwell-Chang to confirm that you have the slot before PMing her with the details of your custom.
3. PM Trio Maxwell-Chang with the details of your custom. Be sure to include what type of custom it is (New Breed or Unique), what base or colors you would like, whether there are any specific markings to use (please remember that these are tiny pets, and that there is not a great deal of detail in them), name, gender, and a one-word personality (preferably a short word). Use the form below to help smooth things along.
4. As soon as the PM has been confirmed, start a trade for the amount of money your order will cost. I will not begin work on your custom until you have begun the trade.
5. Be patient. When your order is done, I will be certain to inform you by confirming your trade. At that time, check the pickup post to retrieve your pet.

1. Do Pixapets breed?
Yes, they do. Pixapets can breed once they've been owned for 1 week (7 days). It will state clearly on the owner's list whether or not your pixapets are capable of breeding.

2. Does the breeding have to be between males and females?
Only if you want to get offspring. At this point in time, there are no alternative means of conception. Therefore, all successful breedings must take place between a male and a female.

3. Can domestic cats breed with wild cats?
Not successfully. Both are limited to the breeds within their own subcategory.

4. Can Pixacats breed with Pixapups?
Not successfully. I'm afraid you're stuck with feline/feline and canine/canine breeding pairs (and rodent/rodent).

5. Which Pixapets can Special Sets breed with?
Special Sets can breed with Domestics, Wilds, and of course, Special Sets, but obviously must remain within their own type (canine, feline, rodent).

6. Do Pixapets mate for life?
They are not required to, certainly. Mating for life is a privilege now reserved for those who have been roleplayed on the thread, and among offspring-capable partners, there are added benefits to lifemating. Additionally, pixapets are capable of lifemating in non-offspring-capable pairs, such as same sex couples, or domestic/wild or canine/feline pairs. While these matings will not result in offspring, since they must be roleplay supported, you may discover other benefits to them.

7. Are there downfalls to mating for life?
Only if you don't play by the rules. Pixapets are like the rest of us - they have feelings. Trying to breed outside of a lifemating, for any reason, will result in a breaking of that lifemating, and it would be highly unlikely that the lifemating would ever happen again. While lifemating must be rp-supported, breaking the lifemating does not require rp, making it much easier to do. And re-lifemating will require intensive work on the part of both owners.

8. Is there a waiting period once they've had offspring?
Yes. It lasts for one week, during which time the little ones are cared for by their mother and the owners of the parents post info about who the offspring goes to.

9. How do I get a breeding spot?
Post on the thread that you would like a breeding spot with your chosen partner (siblings may NOT breed, but two non-related pets owned by the same person may). Once that is done, please send the trade. Breeding spots cost 100g for domestic cats, dogs, and mice, and 400g for wild cats, wild dogs, and Special Sets. This cost may be split between owners, or paid by one, or whatever you wish. That part is your business. Once I've recieved the money, I will include the two pets in their own slot. (PLEASE check to see if your pair is breedable - money recieved by non-offspring-capable pairs will be considered donations.) After some time, the offspring will arrive, and the owners will be notified. If you intend to breed a cosplay pet, please see the appropriate question below.

10. What happens to the offspring?
Offspring is split evenly between the two owners (or will obviously go to the sole owner, if both pets are owned by the same person). The owners may give them away, keep them, or sell them. Please note that I must be told of all sales, raffles, or auctions. In the case of an odd number of offspring, the owners must agree on what will happen to the odd-one-out, and both post on the thread to confirm.

11. What are the benefits of lifematings?
Lifemated couples may find themselves involved in special RP events, may be given special items, and for those capable of bearing offspring, may find their litters larger than non-lifemated pairs. A great deal will depend on the couple and the way their lifemating goes.

12. How do pets become lifemated?
In order for two pets to be declared lifemated, they must have RPed this out reasonably. I'm not expecting to read the Romeo and Juliet of the Pixapet world... but I have to be able to see that they belong together. I am willing, within reason, to read RPs in other threads, or on AIM... but I will do so at my own pace and in my own schedule, which means your pets may not be declared lifemated as quickly as you might hope. Please bear that in mind.

13. How do I breed my Cosplay Pixapet?
Cosplay Pixapets are a very different type of pet, and breeding them is an interesting proposition. The pets themselves will breed as normal - markings will mix, colorings will mix, and purebreds will stay purebreds. However, what sets Cosplays apart is just that - their penchant to dress up in costumes and roleplay. Cosplay Pixapets may only breed with other Cosplay Pixapets of the same general species (cat, pup, or mouse).

When you're ready to breed your Cosplay Pixapets, first secure a breeding spot. Breeding spots for Cosplay Pixapets cost 3000g or 3k, and you will not have the spot until you've started the trade. Once the pets are in the breeding spot, some time will pass before the offspring emerges - sans costumes. Cosplay Pixapets look to their owners for guidance in what costume they will don, but a costume may only be worn by one Cosplay Pixapet.

Once the pets are split between their new owners (in whatever means they are being split, including being given away or sold or whatever), their new owners will be asked to supply a costume idea for them to wear. They will recieve their new costumes as soon as I can outfit them.

Please, if you become the owner of Cosplay Pixapet Offspring, supply a picture along with the costume idea if at all possible - it will help me out greatly.

There are three normal breeding spots. Each slot has a notation of open or closed in it. Open slots may be taken by posting a request on this thread.

Normal Spot 1: closed

Normal Spot 2: closed

Normal Spot 3: closed

In addition to the three normal breeding slots, there are two special spots for Pixapets to enjoy each other's comfort in. Read below to find out if your couple qualifies for either:

The first is the Lifemates' Spot. This place is used only for lifemates, and will be closed for 2-7 days after each use. However, with the exception of the short cleaning period after each use, it remains always open, allowing lifemates the opportunity to have litters whenever they wish, rather than having to wait for a normal breeding spot. Please note that lifemates may ALSO use the normal breeding spots, if they so wish, and that this breeding spot costs the normal fee.

Lifemates' Spot: open

The second special breeding spot is called the shopowner's spot. This spot is even more special, as it is always closed unless Trio chooses to place a pair of Pixapets inside. There is no fee attached to breeding in this spot, but the breedings may be random - sometimes even surprising the owners. (For those of you who are familiar with normal cats and dogs, this should actually seem relatively understandable.) As for how your pets secure this spot? Quite simply, RP your heart out. Earlier in the thread, I noted that while roleplaying is not required, it is encouraged, and special benefits may occur because of it. This is one of them. I will only place pets in this spot at my discretion, and any requests for this spot will simply guarantee that the pets in question do NOT arrive here.

Shopowner's Spot: Calliope and Kaleidoscope

The Pixapets below are looking for breeding mates. Some may or may not be looking for lifemates.

1. Ghost
Easy going female Snow Tiger seeks male wildcat to put some spice in her life. Must be honest, kind, and dependable -- I'm looking for long-term here; as a wise person once said, "If you're not in it for life, if you're not in it for love, I'm outta here."
2. Lei Sying
Cheerful, happy-go-lucky, highly amourous male Air PixaMouse seeking any female mouse interested in holding still long enough to be caught for a romp. Every one is beautiful. Between friends only, please, this one won't be tied down.

Donators always have a special place in my heart, because their generosity is often surprising to me. Our new shop already has a donator who should be showcased, I'm pleased to say. Thank you!

Because of Nyl Phairen's generous gift, I've come to a decision. From now on, anyone who chooses to donate 500g or above (the price of a regular, flat-sold wild Pixapet) will recieve a donator Pixacat or Pixapup. Now, you can choose to think of this as an on-going flat-sale, but I hope you won't. It's my wish to reward those who are generous. These are special to me.

Please note that no one on the Black List may own a Pixapet, although people may get themselves taken off of the Black List in time due to good behavior.
