<center>This manga, Hikaru No Go, is mainly about Igo.
In Japan, Igo used to be a game for "elders". Or at least it seemed like that. It was unusual for young kids and my generation (I'm 15 @@;; ) to be playing Igo all day long and just have so much fun.
That was also the opinion for Hikaru.
Boooring~.
He starts out as a young Shougaku-6th grade. State-wise, 6th grade or First year of middle school. Of course he knows nothing about Igo, maybe that his grandpa is a crazy person over Igo, but that's just about it.
But all these ideas suddenly changed. While he and his friend, Akari, were going through Grandpa's Kura-ya (Garage-type place to store things), where he finds an old Goban (A small-table to play Igo on). Hikaru sees blood stains, which only Hikaru can see.
But that's not all the mysteries of it. There is a ghost living with it/in it. This Ghost, named Sai, was an Igo-player for the Mikado in the Heian Period. However, he had to die for a certain reason. Even though Sai died then, he was not happy with his reasons, which was when God had let Sai live with his Go-ban till he could reach his goal of "The Hand of The God" (Kami no Itte).
Now let Us Enter the world of Black and White, Hikaru Enter the world of Goals, Rivals, and Professionals, and Sai to Enter his last world of Kami no Itte.
