o. The Lands of Vitae

Introduction

Once upon a time, the majority of the world was ruled by creatures who controlled the elements. Among the most powerful of these creatures in control were Dragons. The dragons were large serpents who sliced through the clouds without the need of wings. The dragons were seperated into individual clans based on the elements they controlled. They have thier own set of enemies and allies based on these elemental traits / thier personal preferences to thier 'brothers'.

Vitae

Vitae is an 'earth' like world with four seasons, two suns and half a moon. Regions in the south tend to be far hotter in certain times of the Vitae calander, and far colder in the north. The two suns are harmless, one being prominent and supplying the heat [Magnus] and the other acting like a small child to the larger [Minor]. The moon was destroyed thousands of years ago, and only half of it remains. Because of this, the tides are very fickle and are prone to storms around the coastal lands. Gravity is also effected. Several plants and creatures have adapted to these issues and live with ease, others died off and dissapeared after being unable to adapt to the changes.

There are many cities in Vitae. The world is ran by a Monarchy, a King. As far as history can represent, the king has had an agreement with the Dragons [most of them, anyway]. Through this agreement of Non-Agression the king is able to maintain several aspects of weather for his people in order to keep the storms from devestating his lands. He can also request for climate blessings, etc.

The Agreement of Non-Agression outlaws the destruction and/or hunting of dragons or thier kind and outlines strict areas that are for the dragon clans use. Both parties respect the others lands, and hold impressive laws and penalties to anyone who disobeys.

GunPowder Tea @ Durem

The GunPowder Tea House is located in a shop within Durem. It's an old-style building nestled between two other shops and appears to be hidden behind shelves of books in the window. A sign hangs over the entrance that reads, 'Fine Tea and Adventure' below the scrawling words, 'GunPowder Tea Company'.

The shop is maintained by two women, the owner and hostess of the GTC: Malu and Little T. Malu spends her time chatting with relic collectors when she's not out hunting for new oddities. Little T spends all her time in the shop, and maintains a room upstairs so she can be there 24/7.

The GunPowder Tea Company has recently found several strange egg-shaped stones....

Stages of Growth:

1. Egg -
First stage of the Vitae Dragons. They're blind, harmless, and really.. cute. They like to eat constantly and when they're not eating they are sleeping. They're terribly curious after they develop thier acceptance to the light and after learning they can see they don't stop wandering around their surrounding/home until they've staked out thier own 'den'.

2. Teen -
Vitae Dragons are a scale larger, half the size they'd be at adults. They're starting to gather a 'horde', and like to steal things. They're tempers are short, and they're starting to get OUT and look around thier home areas. Exploration is a big thing during this age. They're like your typical human teenager, all back talk and rebellion.

3. Adult -
Dragons an adult now, just stepping into the beginning of thier middle years. Dragons live a long long time, and this could really be called the 'eternal twenties' of a dragons life. They're in thier prime condition and enjoy sniffing around and exploring the world. They tend to start showing off and gathering a group of other Vitae dragons they enjoy being around. Last common stage.

4. Elder -
Rare stage. If a Vitae dragon exceeds beyond others of it's kind, it will develop a final stage- the ability to shape shift into a human-guise and enter the world of bipedals. Elders are powerful because of thier ability to mesh into the human society and gain power in both worlds.

Dragon Types

Rares = Gold/Blue/LightGreen
Common = Red/Orange/DarkGreen/Yellow/ltblue
Exiled = White/Black

[Lakai] Gold : Royalty. Gold is a rare color, and the highest respected among clans. That doesn't mean they're perfect.. They tend to have arrogance and views based on thier feeling of superiority over the other clans. Most of them are decent, but a few are over the top.
- Gods/Dieties: Monai, 'founding' father. Ruled Vitae for several thousand years of peace during which he developed laws, calanders, and several other neat things.

[x] Blue : Storm creatures. Dark blue dragons are moody and anti-social. They move like the storms and could be calm one second and raving the next. Because of thier unpredictable nature, other dragons have a strong distrust for them and label them 'Bezerkers'. They're good soldiers, if you can get one to work for you. They love lightning.

[x] Bamboo/Grass : Light shaded green dragons. They're peaceful, vegetation loving creatures. They respect the earth and everything on it, and take a personal vow to protect it. They dragons are fierce when something they love or are protecting is threatened, but for the most part they're peaceful and easy going. They like sleeping in tall grassy fields and smelling flowers. They also eat only vegetation. o_O;

[x] Lt Blue : Wind dragons. They're flighty, and easily distracted. The tricksters and jokers of the dragon types. They like to laugh and are prone to riddles and annoying the other clans with thier twisted plots and schemes. Some can be nice, and others can be horribly malicious. They have an air of indifference to them that the other dragons view as carelessness.

[x] Green : Poison dragons. These dragons like the dank and moshy parts of the world. They like to eat poisonous things. They're saliva is deadly. In elder form, Green dragons excell in alchemy and potions. They like science and manipulating chemicals. They're exceptionally intelligent. They also know medicine and healing.

[x] Red : Fire. Passionate, loud, and abrasive. Red dragons have opinions and by the time they're done with you, you know them. They ARE arrogant. They're bullies, and typically leaders. They're courage is known nowhere else among the other dragons, and they're usually the first to act. They have a high degree of honor and values among thier own clans. They're the first to create laws and run a well kept army. They're the most feared group on the battle field.

[x] Purple : Water. They go with the flow. Easily changable and adaptable. They more with uncanny grace and ease. They swim like no other clan, and they are able to breathe under water. They're personalities are mysterious, they're the clan mystics. They like books, reading, and anything to do with magic.

[x] White : Star-gazers. White dragons are pressumed extinct. Seeing one is rare. They're star watchers. They created the Vitae calander and like to mess with stones. They are good at tinkering with detail and make the best weapon/jewelry/armor.

[Noirath] Black : Darkness. All black dragons have been exiled. Through Vitae history black dragons have been evil creatures not to be trusted and to be feared. They practice a type of magic unknown to all others and speak to the dead. They travel in shadow and commune with demons. If you see one, I'd run.
