"So, Nightmare, huh?" He patted the horse and then mounted it with ease. He slightly gave a few pulls, and the horse moved instantly, exactly as he had commanded. "Wow, they have been well trained. They seem like horses worthy of kings, no... I would say gods. And I bet they can run quite fast too."

"Be careful with him," She said. "He was abused by his last owner, and is a bit... testy, sometimes. He plays the good boy, but when you aren't looking, he gets up to mischief. And he's uncontrollable if someone wearing spurs tries to mount him." She eyed the stranger thoughtfully.
"If he kills you, I take no responsibility."

A second thought occured to her, and she looked at the others, "Is he even coming with us?" she inquired, weighing him from what she'd seen: a touch arrogant, ambiguous, sneaky. Trustworthy?
Not yet.

Mizu settled her black skirts so that she could sit properly on Hoshi, with one leg on one side and the other on the other side. Hoshi stamped imatiently and whickered. Mizu patted the horse's strong neck to calm her, lightly tugging the reigns. When Hoshi wasn't calming Mizu turned her around in a circle and that seemed to calm the spirited horse.
"Good girl," Mizu cooed quietly patting Hoshi's neck again.

Nihilian turned his head back towards the group from a distance ahead.
"Of course he's coming! We can't leave any witnesses!"

"If he kills me it will be on his head," he looked at the horse and considered it for a second "but for what you tell me it seems he has already paid that due." then looking at Nihilian he added "As for secrets, it will be hard to find anyone better than me in this city to keep them."

"If the horse kills you? Or if I do? I've got enough deaths on my conscience, another won't make a huge debt, but I'll keep you around."
He grinned and unsheathed his long sword.
"And if you couldn't keep a secret, the only one you'd be talking to is this beauty here."

Gene commanded the horse to trot towards the city gate. "I suggest you all be silent as night itself. Just because it is night, it doesnt mean there arent any gaurds around here." He looked around cautiously, "Drathel gaurds or assasins could have infiltrated this place already if the war is going to happen." Gene turned to Nihilian, "as for strength, I have enough to travel to Drathel. But I won't have enough to deal what is coming our way once we get there. It is better to save energy then to waste one ounce of it, but do as you wish." Gene looked at the horizon and glanced a few times at the crew. Gene thought to himself, "Where they all really trustworthy, or will one or two of them be the one that makes the great city fall." After that moment, he didnt care, he just wanted to get to Drathel fast. "How long do you supposedly we will arrive at the city? A day or two?"

"Two weeks." Anar replied. "If we don't bog down. If we don't get caught in a faire. And if everything goes as smoothly as possible, we will get there around sunset in two weeks. We aren't going to the next town; we're going to another nation. If you want Dreathel's capital, that's another two. So four weeks. If there isn't any trouble, like assassins, armies, or bandits." She hooked Charger and Stormcloud, as a passing notion, to the cart and took a seat, setting him in motion, moving fireheart so that she walked closer to the seat than the back. "So we should go before Nihilian leaves us behind." She didn't wait for a reply, just flapped the reins so Charger'd pick up his pace a bit.

Gene's expression fell into a slump. "TWO WEEKS! Where are we going, half way across the world? Jesus, might as well wait here and let the war pass. I never really traveled to Drathel, so I never really knew how long it too." Gene almost turned back when he heard the amount of time, but it was the good of mankind.

"If we were going halfway around the world, it would take 40 days. Around the world in 80 days. Two weeks isn't long."

Anyara laughed at that, a rich, pleasant laugh, and it felt like the first time in ages. "I like how he thinks. And look at it this way, armies take travel slow. If it takes us two weeks to get to the border, it'll take them three times as long to get to the capital."

"A swift footed daemon outruns a mounted knight."
He chuckled.
"Best strategy I've seen this side of the river Styx."

"Yes. But a winged angel surpasses all of their speeds. Who knows what they might have on their side. I've heard Drathelians can have a pretty good ability of persuasion, and I'm sure there are some creatures that are not happy with Asellion themselves... we better be careful."

She smiled, "Always, sir." She used her meek servant voice, the smile contradicting it. Anyara settled for a long night. One that would probably be longer before sunrise.

"Ah, yes. Drathellians are quite persuasive."
Nihilian set a pace that would keep him walking until he needed sleep. He'd use the cart roof for that.
