Anyara was right, it would take an army twice as long to reach our city because they usually walk on foot. One thing, what if they were already advancing. Gene took in his surroundings. The sound of water, wind, footsteps, and the sounds of animals. Nothing suspicous was surrounding thing. "I doubt that we can be cognito in Drathel for long before we get discovered. So we have to, of course, devise a plan if that fate every reaches us." He was terrified to enter such a place without any light, his abilities depended on sunlight and the rejuvination of the earth every morning. "I hope we dont bumb into a gaurd of Drathel once we get there. If we did ever bump into a demon, or even one of those centaurs, that I heard protect the gate, we can talk them one. But I doubt that we are going to bump into a winged angel in a place like that."

Mizu clucked to Hoshi and sent her trotting so she could catch up to the already leaving group. Once she'd come up beside Anyara she pulled up and settled Hoshi to a steady walk. "It will take a long while to reach the Drathel capital. Four weeks if we don't run into guards or moving armies or anything. They've literally surrounded themselves. Its a good tacktic but it will also lead to their downfall." Mizu seemed to be smiling. "If they're in the middle of everything, and then Asellion takes everything around them, what happens?" Mizu's voice had a menacing and sly sound to it. "They're surrounded." Her smile seemed to widen. "So, if we also keep in contact with Asellion, which I will have to for my temple, we can have a two pronged mission. Get at their god and act as spies and find out army placements and positioning. All this only making later war go faster and in the hands of Asellion." For a young girl who had worked as a sorceress and in temple most of her life she had alot of knowlage of war.

Anyara lifted an eyebrow at Mizu, thought the gesture went mostly unseen in the darkness. "Gene, you seem to be quite mistaken about what Drathel is truly like." She said. "It is, to all appearances, much like this land. They build differently, but that is expected. Their land is not our land. The darkness that is there is in the people, the government, and those in powerful places: Priests and Lords, for the most part. Their is no visible taint over the land, but a... a feeling, like a weight upon your back. It's is a subtle hint of the opression that is there." She gave up trying to explain it. "And as for Demon door guards, I believe that to be a rumor false. Asel has no more angelic gate keepers than the snow-capped mountains are pink." She didn't bother speaking of the Guardians--the world knew that they patrolled the broder between the two nations to ensure that neither side assault the other. And they were no more human in appearance than a fish.

"Well, we aren't going in through the gates so they won't be of much burden on our mind. What would angels be doing in a place like that; aren't angels shown as saviors or the gaurdians of light." Gene knew that Drathel would have powerful gaurds infront of the gates, ready for anybody trying to break in. What would happen if they met one of those gaurdians along the way, or were abushed by some traveling Drathelians. Thorn was always there for Gene, but this is a much larger task. Gene could feel Thorns fear, his nervousness. "It's okay thorn. Mother won't let anyone hurt you, nor will I. As long as the Earth is curessed and kissed by the sun, your soul will never escape you." He patted the horse, but Gene knew it was a different story for him. Anything could hurt him, even the Earth itself.

Anyara shook her head. "You mistake my meaning. Look beyond the veils Asel has wrapped about your eyes, unplug your ears. Drathel is despotic nation--none argue this, Asellion nor Drathellion can protests this in honesty--but they are not overtly evil. What wickedness they do is hidden behind the veils of thier lies. Behind stone walls of fortressess and palaces, tucked into taxes and demands. They will not have demonic guards on the gates. Soldiers, yes, but they will be merely mortal. The only demons summoned will be those of sorcerous construction. Same for the angelic beings, no matter what side summons them forth. The Divine will not interfere overtly, as you seem to suspect. This is a Mortal War, forbidden by the Gods, aye, warded against by the Guardians, aye, but when all is said and done, it is a mortal coil, started by mere men, and it must be ended by men. "So it was decreed when the Gods left the Mortal realm." She turned her gaze to him. "Do you understand now?" She had grown there, she knew, in a way that no Asellion could, what Drathel was like. The people knew only the good they could afford to provide eachother, the lords--while not all were as corrupt as her Lord had been--knew wealth and Court and the quick, fearful obedience of servants. She had never met the King, but she had heard that he was no better than his Lords, and worse in many ways. Demons? Angels? They were things dreamed of by the witches, sorcerers and wizards. Mages created them, for the Gods never had, though she could see where they could bring those images from the Gods' incarnations.
((For the recored, the God Drathel was not always evil, and did not always take sacrifcies. The Nation Drathel doesn't show obvious signs of being evil. Angels are mage Constructs (tangible illusions) based on the Phoenix's incarnation as a human and a manifest her chosen may bring (maiden with flaming hair and wigs, flaming eyes varies) Demons are taken from stone and Drathel, based varyingly off the stone incarnation, and Drathel's assisstants (think houndish gargoyles) I'd like to point out, now, while I'm doing story work, that this is not a Christian RP, and that Angels and Demons are traditionally Christian. So, before it becomes a problem, I'd like to request that 'God' in the singular be avoided unless your refering to the Stone God or Drathel. 'Goddess' is used for Water and Fire. Angel's and demons are Neutral--either side can create/call one.
I'll add more footnotes like these as stuff shows up. I'm trying to mesh ya'lls ideas of what the world's like with what I already had (see Drathel for evidince) but I have to do it without varying the world too much. That's all, thank you!))

"So you are saying that the evil in Drathel is hidden behind the lies and the sayings. That angels and demons are nuetral and choose whatever side there is." Gene wasn't very knowledgeble. He has never been to Drathel because of what he thinks lies behind there. "Are you saying that there is still some goodness left, behind of the walls of Drathel, that I, or others, do not know of? I am sure that Drathel is not pure evil, but to some extent it is a large amount that even I cannot measure."

"That's almost exactly it." Nihilian pulled off his hood at pointed at the top of his head. "Do you see horns there?" He pointed at his shoulders. "How 'bout dark scaly wings here?" He grinned as he tugged his hood back into place. "Not all Drathellians are overtly evil. Most of us aren't even as daemonic as you fools pretend. I may still eat your firstborn, though." He chuckled softly as he continued to walk.

Anyara shook her head, not sure whether to laugh or throw something at his commentary. "Essentially." She confirmed. He'd gotten the gist of it, and she didn't feel like giving a whole course on the intricasies of Drathel--she wasn't a suicidal, after all, and that'd bring on a killer headache. What he hadn't heard he'd see when they got there. At least he wouldn't go charging after the first armed man they saw--or woman, though she thought maybe his sense of honor might keep him from that.

Nihilian hoped Gene's honor would keep him from that. The first kill was his.

Gene wasn't surprised, "I didn't say that all Drathels had evil, demonic features." He snickered at the remark of killing his firstborn "I won't have a first born. And if I did, I doubt you will be able to touch it. I only believe in attacking only when neccesary. I have been trained by my parents friend. He was a swift and silent demon. I never really trusted him, but he did protect me. He taught me how to be silent, blend in with my surroundings, and kill a person with such swift techniques. I haven't really used nor needed those, until now." Gene took out his sword, which was hidden behind a clothe in his back. It was a metal sword, but different from the others; weilded by blue roses and holy water. "I am sure that this will be of much use."

((He was pointing out the fact that he doesn't have them, since your character seemed to think that Drathellions were an alien evil race that smeeled of brimstone and had demon horns and bat wings. Please edit your post.))

"Careful with that, kid." Ranpu warned Gene "Just because there are rumors of war it doesn't mean we will kill any demon that comes our way. And if there is such a war, we are looking to stop it, not to kindle it." Ranpu just wanted to clarify a point that seemed to be bothering everyone elses minds.
(( come on, I guess someone had to do it xd ))

((Yup.))
"And put it away. You want to look normal, not interesting. Interesting attracts robbers. Robbers attract attention. None of which we want." She settled again, feeling strange inside. Anyara had never planned on returning to Drathel after she left. She had planned on settling in Asel and leaving her past behind. But now she was going back as part of a scouting party that had been organized in a few scant minutes, with people she didn't know--one of whom was denser than a lump of lead (ungraciously she thought he was dense enough to lead lokk like pumice) another who seemed to quick on the draw, and a sorceress who could easily fry her to a crisp, not to mention a man of unknown capabilities and connections. She was wary, and unsure of how she felt to be returning to a land she loathed. At least she would not need to see her Lord's castle and the turmoil it would call forth.
