This laboratory is the main residence of Mayuri Kurotsuchi, and is the home of many of the regime's greatest inventions. Although the depraved doctor is often found modifying certain items or inventing new weapons to be used by Ghaleon's regime, the room is littered with his own inventions.
Kurotsuchi's research is not limited to inventions either, and he will gladly experiment on any who are foolish enough to enter his laboratory without good reason. These experiments often lead to full body alterations, however, one in a very limited number of experiments proves to be a great enhancement in the traits of that person. These improved soldiers are normally requested by Ghaleon himself, and are immediately sent to the service of the Emperor.
Under certain circumstances, Mayuri will also conduct experiments or create inventions according to a clients specifications. Those who come seeking a device, however, should be warned of his fees...depending on what you want, Mayuri could ask for a small amount of gold or another experimental test subject.

The heartless shinigami walked into his laboratory, taking a chance to see what was around him. "Nemu...do what you can with this mess. I need to complete the sensor that the Emperor asked for. Once you're done, take care of finishing my last project-I already gave you the schematics."
"Ay, Mayuri-sama." Nemu said, before receiving a hand across the face. "I told you not to refer to me as such anymore. I am Dr. Kurotsuchi, as named by Ghaleon..." The doctor really had no excuse for it, but he felt that inventions should understand that they were nothing to their masters. She was, after all, just one of his creations.

"Ah, the experiment is completed. I made some key alterations to your energy's flow, allowing you to harness your new power fairly quickly. Never the less, I have been able to install a safety measure in you, since activating your 'new form' for too long would kill you..." Mayuri moved around the finished subject of Onyx, explaining. "You will only be able to sustain this form for a number of minutes (4 turns), due to the absorption rate. You see, in this form your body will continue to suck in the elements that you control like a vacuum, increasing your abilities proportionally. The problem is, your body will only be able to sustain so much before the energy swells and you go BOOM!" Mayuri made an exaggurated hand motion, laughing.
"In this form you will have an array of abilities that far surpass those of your normal form, along with control of two new elements: more correctly, they are elements that have been combined to form something entirely different. I leave the discovery of these abilities to you, Onyx. After all, what fun would it be to learn a new technique without knowing that one wrong move could cause you to go 'PoP'! Hahaha..." Mayuri cackled again, waving to have the restraints removed. She was free to go now, and he barely held any interest in her anymore...like all old experiments, he couldn't keep entertained once they were completed. "Oh, and one more thing...you are at my beck and call should I need to complete another experiment requiring your 'talents'. Remember that...dismissed."

Onyx listened to the Doc rattle on, storing the information for processing later. Her mind was already on the technique she was developing.
'I doubt he will require my abilities very often. Now to return to training'
"As you say Doc."
Onyx vanished from the room, heading back to the grindery.

 The silence that had fallen over the Empire after the destruction of the Northern Caves had been deafening to the ears of those who supported the Empire. Many of the arrancar who had recently pledged themselves to Ghaleon and several of his other servants were included in this restlessness, and the patience of many more was growing thin. Indeed, the assault the demons and the Resistance had launched upon the Grindery was still fresh in the minds of all, and the Emperor's forces were sorely crying out for retribution.
Not included in that group, however, was Ulquiorra Schiffer, the Cuarto Espada in the Emperor's proud regime. In fact, it could be said that his patience was as deep as the shade of his green eyes. Of all who dedicated themselves to the service of their great Master, he was by far the most patient. And he was also cunning, never one to question his master's orders, and yet not one to waste the time that their Emperor was giving them. While Gin traveled the lands idly and Grimmjow waited for the next battle, Ulquiorra had been planning for the coming assault. This way, when Ghaleon called upon them, at least he would be prepared.
Fortunately for those loyal to the Magic Emperor, the time for waiting had come and gone, and the first of what promised to be many attacks was about to begin. And it was for this purpose that Ulquiorra pushed through the doors of Mayuri's Laboratory to seek an audience with the creator. There was much to do before he made his move.
"Kurotsuchi," the white-skinned arrancar muttered evenly from the doorway of Mayuri's precious lab. "Have you finished with you modifications on the Decima Espada?"

Mayuri listened to the arrancar and waved his hand as if to wave the arrancar's question off. "Yes, yes I finished the modifications...a total waste, I believe! I didn't learn ONE useful thing while I was completing that experiment. All those raw materials used and it has gotten me no where! I wish only that I could go back and implement her uses more fully so that maybe I could have gotten a result, even if she did not quite survive the process...."
Mayuri sighed, slightly saddened. "But...the orders said that I couldn't kill her, 'no matter what'. It is so hard to complete good genetic experiments without dangerous body alterations! And I never even got to test the effects of a new Hollow venom I have or my new invention..." The doctor rambled on, clearing oblivious that Ulquiorra was probably uninterested after the initial reply.

The silent arrancar watched with his usual bored expression as Mayuri prattled on about the failure of his experiment, waiting until he was finished to turn away. It didn't matter to him if he hadn't got what he wished out of Onyx, only that the Decima Espada was now stronger and more capable than ever. Their strength is what would make their master's dream a reality. For the Espada, that was all that mattered.
"It doesn't matter," Ulquiorra told him coldly, interrupting his rambling, "so long as she is ready to fight. And you should be, too, Kurotsuchi." His words were clear and simple, and upon their delivery the Cuarto Espada stepped out of the entrance and made towards the Grindery where he had located the signature of Onyx's unique spiritual pressure. Once he had gathered her and paid a visit to the shop in Hueco Mundo, the time to make a move would have at last arrived.
Ulquiorra's hand almost twitched in anticipation.

"Good God, I'm so bored! Isn't there anyone around who wants to fight?" Cyril drawled dramatically, smirking at the technicians cowering away in fear of his impressive reiatsu. He knew the laboratory wasn't a place where he was likely to pick a fight, but then again...that didn't mean he couldn't have some fun.
"Come now, why don't you fools do something that might increase my strength?" the creation suggested with a small laugh, prompting a small, quivering scientist to step forward tentatively and ask what he wanted done. At the question, however, all pretenses of amusement ceased and he pointed a finger at the offending weakling. Then, tossing him into the sky, the man exploded in a rain of blood and screaming. It was enough to replace the smirk on his lips.
"Wrong answer! There's nothing you CAN do to increase my strength, because I'm already perfect!" Cyril laughed out loud, growing more and more amused with the fear he placed in them. However his fun had only lasted a few moments before he grew bored, and teleported away to go amuse himself elsewhere.
