The center of the Seireitei and focal point of the Gotei 13 (13 Protection Squads), the First Division Headquarters is home to Jyuushirou Ukitake, the Commander-General of all Shinigami. Meetings for the 13 Captains of the Protection Squads are held here due to the deteriorating condition of the Commander-General, and nearly every important decision is decided in this place.
In addition to being a meeting place, this largest division serves as home to Commander-General Ukitake, his lieutenant, and members of his Division. Though the Division is usually too full to take on guests, all are welcome to visit the Commander-General, given he is well enough to host.

Appearing in a flash, still toting the large, fatally wounded warrior, the Good Doctor wastes no time in finding an appropriate place to set his large though light (Well, to him anyway) burden down while he would seek the aid of Squad 4's healers or at least appear so as he dispatches another Sapper to take the order to Squad 4's headquarters while he slips away to his lab to await the Sappers bearing the magical armor.

Byakuya led the way from Rukongai, and once they had passed into Soul Society he made his way to the first squad headquarters. He was expecting to have Ukitake give the soul a briefing, and then he would leave him for now. His squad was legendary for keeping up with their duties, and he did not wish to fall behind now. "6th Squad Captain, Kuchiki Byakuya reporting in. I have brought the new Shinigami, Gustav Meridon from the outskirts of Rukongai. Sir."

Even as Kuchiki entered Squad One's headquarters, he was met with chaos as members of Squad Four were in disarray, rushing around the injured Kyle D'Alkirk, trying to save his life. At that very same moment, Saburo bursts onto the scene, his Captain's robes making a wooshing sound as he dashes across the area to the injured warrior's side. With a loud, commanding voice, the indigo haired captain calls out, "Members of Squad Four, come to ORDER!! You act as if you've never seen someone injured before! Now calm down and get the job done right!" Saburo didn't have the patience right now to make each of the squad four members feel like a beautiful, distinctive snowflake; they had a life to save and he did not want to lose someone this early in the battle. Kneeling down by Kyle, Saburo took a visual assessment of the warrior's injuries. They were fatally serious, whatever happened to Kyle, it was obvious whoever did it was unbelievably strong. "Hang in there, my friend, it isn't over yet. We'll make them pay, I promise." The young captain whispers before standing to his feet. Though it had appeared that Saburo hadn't noticed the other Captain in the room, he remarks to Byakuya, "I take it things didn't go so well in Aron. Captain Ukitake is still at Squad 13 Headquarters, I suggest you head there for debriefing, Squad One's Headquarters are a little too busy at the moment." Saburo didn't care to mask the irritation in his voice, he didn't know the extent of what went on down there, but he knew that one man was fatally wounded and the other dead, even if Gustav was now somehow mysteriously alive again, and as far as he was concerned, that was enough for him.

Byakuya nodded, and turned away without any further words. He disapproved of Saburo, and wasn't one for banter by nature at any rate. He walked out without explaining more about what happened on the mission or asking a number of things, and headed in the direction of the 13th. Besides, Saburo's voice had carried an evident tone of irritation and inwardly the captain might have wanted nothing more than to silence it, especially at being reminded of his failure to guard the two subordinates, but outwardly not so much as a hair was moved to answer the vehement tone.
